Many generals will attend the conference to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.

On August 8, in Hanoi, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) coordinated to organize a press conference to introduce a scientific seminar with the theme: "The General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - 80 years of building, fighting and growing, firmly entering the new era of the nation".

The workshop will take place on August 14 at the Ministry of National Defense Hall, with the participation of about 550 delegates. Among them are many leaders and former leaders of the Party and State; representatives of central departments, ministries, branches and organizations; heads and former heads of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; leaders of some localities; commanders of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security , along with scientists and historical witnesses.

The workshop aims to affirm and clarify the Party's guidelines, policies, correct and creative leadership and direction of President Ho Chi Minh towards the Vietnam People's Army in general and the General Staff in particular in the cause of national liberation struggle, building and defending the Fatherland. The process of building, fighting and growing, the heroic tradition, glorious career and outstanding contributions of the General Staff in the revolutionary cause...

According to Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan, Chief of Politics of the General Staff, the workshop is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025). Along with that are propaganda, emulation, tradition education, gratitude activities and the official celebration held on September 6, broadcast live on national television.

The workshop is also an opportunity to draw lessons and contribute to building an increasingly streamlined, strong, and modern General Staff, meeting the requirements of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation. This is the fourth time the workshop has been held after 2005, 2015, and 2020.
