The time of rain coincided with the high tide, causing black, foul-smelling water from the sewers to flow back into many homes, offices, and businesses, wetting property and affecting the lives of residents and students.
According to the forecast of the An Giang Province Hydrometeorological Station, the water level in the downstream of Tien and Hau rivers will continue to rise and exceed alert level III by 7-20cm; reaching peak tide on the evening of October 10, then gradually decreasing.
Many roads in Long Xuyen ward were deeply flooded.
Due to the impact of high tides in the lower reaches of the river, combined with floods in the upper reaches of the Mekong River and heavy rain in the region. There is a possibility of local flooding in some low-lying areas, riverside areas, canals, roads and areas with low ground elevation, areas without dike systems, weak culverts in urban areas in Long Xuyen, Binh Duc, My Phuoc wards, My Hoa Hung, Phu Tan and Cho Moi communes. Flooding time is from 7am - 10am in the morning; from 7pm - 10pm in the evening. Flooding level is from 5-60cm.
