Ninh Binh promotes review and upgrading of school facilities

GD&TĐ - Before the new school year 2025-2026, Ninh Binh province will continue to review and upgrade the infrastructure system for schools in the area.

On the afternoon of August 1, a working delegation of Ninh Binh province led by Ms. Ha Lan Anh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh province on a number of key tasks from now until the end of 2025 as well as in the coming time.

Positive results

Reporting here, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh said that after the merger, the whole province has 1,582 kindergartens and general schools; including 1,545 public schools, 37 non-public schools; 25 public continuing education centers; 66 vocational training facilities... The whole province has 953,228 students.

The total number of managers, teachers and staff of preschool, general education and vocational training facilities in the province is 58,260 people.

Regarding facilities, the whole province has 27,263 classrooms at all levels, with a solid rate of 98.73%, specifically: Preschool 97.87%, Primary 99.42%, Secondary 99%, High School 99.36%, Continuing Education 89.92%, and 347 semi-permanent classrooms. The 2024-2025 school year is being implemented in the context of the three old provinces: Nam Dinh , Ha Nam, Ninh Binh are preparing for the merger process. The comprehensive and key education quality of the province continues to be consolidated and maintained.

In the national high school student selection exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Ninh Binh province had 227/299 students participating in the exam winning prizes, a rate of 75.9% with 1 first prize, 54 second prizes, 81 third prizes and 91 consolation prizes, 7 students were selected to participate in the national team selection exam for the 2025 International Olympics;

In the National Science and Technology Competition for high school students in the 2024-2025 school year, Ninh Binh province had a total of 9/9 winning projects, including 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes, 1 Fourth prize, and 3 Promising prizes. The "Students with Startup Ideas" competition had 1 project winning Second Prize in the National Finals.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, Ninh Binh province ranked 3rd in the country with an average score of 6.47, including 3 subjects ranked first (Math, Informatics and Geography); Nguyen Thai An from Kim Son A High School was the national valedictorian of block A00 with 30 points; Tran Xuan Dam from My Loc High School was the national valedictorian with 39 points/4 subjects.

Implement many key tasks

From the implementation practice, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Ninh Binh proposed that the Provincial People's Committee continue to pay attention to investing and supporting funding for the digital transformation activities of the industry in enrollment and quality assessment of education in teaching and learning.

Directing commune-level authorities to pay attention to planning work, prioritizing land allocation for education and conditions of facilities and teaching equipment for educational institutions under their management authority to implement the program, improve the quality of education, universal education quality and gradually complete universal preschool education for children 3-5 years old by 2030.

At the same time, direct the province's specialized agencies to review and advise on mechanisms to encourage socialization in educational activities; provide specific guidance on merging community learning centers into new administrative units; pay attention to investment projects to build and repair school facilities for the new school year.

Acknowledging the efforts and achievements of the provincial education sector in recent times, Ms. Ha Lan Anh - Vice Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee requested the provincial education sector to focus on implementing the key tasks set out, proactively advising the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to improve the quality of education, focusing on comprehensive education and key education quality.

Do a good job of advising on the development of specialized resolutions to carry out breakthrough tasks in the new term; specifically and thoroughly review old regulations on education in the three old provinces to promptly advise the Provincial People's Committee to synchronize and unify appropriate regulations; prepare necessary conditions to organize the new school year.

Pay attention to building and developing the team, focusing on training and fostering expertise and profession so that the teaching staff can access new regulations as well as educational innovations.

"The provincial Department of Education needs to continue reviewing the current state of school facilities, closely following the national standard school criteria to advise the Provincial People's Committee to invest based on the province's resources; for the province's 3 specialized schools, pay attention to reviewing school facilities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to invest in upgrading and expanding" - Ms. Ha Lan Anh added.

In addition, the leaders of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Education and Training to do a good job of counseling, career guidance, and student orientation to provide the right training; have solutions to effectively solve the "problem" of teacher shortage, promote the role of private educational institutions; accompany and help communes and wards in educational management.
