Ninh Phuoc: Opening of promotional activities, introducing Bau Truc Cham pottery village and products and My Nghiep brocade weaving

On the evening of June 14, at Bau Truc pottery village, Phuoc Dan town, Ninh Phuoc district People's Committee held the opening ceremony of promotional activities, introducing the craft village and Bau Truc Cham pottery products and My Nghiep brocade weaving.

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader of Ninh Phuoc district emphasized: UNESCO's inscription of "Cham pottery art into the List of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection" has affirmed the international appreciation for the cultural values ​​of the Cham people. Thereby, it contributes significantly to introducing to international friends, helping to better understand the value of the traditional pottery craft of the Cham people in the treasure trove of intangible cultural heritage of Vietnam. The inscription will promote practical and effective solutions to preserve and revive the vitality of the heritage, create more resources for the preservation and promotion of the value of Cham pottery heritage, and support sustainable economic and cultural development.

Promotional activities and introductions to the craft village and Bau Truc Cham pottery products and My Nghiep brocade weaving will take place from June 14 to 16, with the following contents: Mass art competition; Skill competition; Sports and folk games competition. Through these activities, the aim is to widely propagate to the people and tourists about UNESCO's recognition and listing of "Cham pottery art in the List of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection". Thereby, raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and people in the work of preserving and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritage "Cham pottery art".

On this occasion, Ninh Phuoc District Association for Promotion of Education awarded 20 scholarships (VND 1 million/scholarship) to studious students of Bau Truc pottery village.
