Nissan has just officially released the first teaser image of the fourth-generation Navara pickup truck, setting the global launch date for November 19, 2025. This is the successor version of the Navara D23 line that was launched in 2014 and received a facelift in 2020. The 2026 Nissan Navara marks a major shift in both design and technical platform. Although not many details have been released, Nissan has confirmed that the new pickup will combine distinctive design elements from previous generations with modern technology and performance capabilities that meet the needs of today's users.
According to previous sources, the new generation Navara will be developed on a common platform with the third generation Mitsubishi Triton, within the framework of cooperation between the two brands of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance. However, Navara will have distinct differences to create its own mark, especially in the exterior design. Through the teaser image, it can be seen that the Navara 2026 has a light bar-shaped LED daytime running light strip placed along both sides of the front of the car, creating a distinctive light shape different from the segmented DRL design on the Triton. The main headlights are expected to remain low-mounted similarly. At the rear of the car, the LED taillights are shaped like a “C”, giving the rear of the car a fresh look.
In terms of body structure, the Navara will likely share many components such as the cabin, hood, doors, side windows and rear wheel arches with the Triton. However, details such as the lighting system, front and rear bumpers will be redesigned by Nissan to create its own identity. Not much has been revealed about the interior, aside from the presence of a push-button start on the center console. This approach is similar to the relationship between the Mazda BT-50 and Isuzu D-Max, where the two models share a platform but differ in design and brand positioning. Nissan representatives said the new Navara will have "many significant changes" to differentiate it from its brother Triton, but it will not be until November 2025 that users will have a more complete view of this pickup model.
In terms of operation, due to the use of the same chassis architecture, the 2026 Navara is expected to use a 2.4L turbocharged diesel engine, similar to the Triton, for a maximum capacity of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 470 Nm. The rear suspension can also be switched to a strut suspension, instead of a coil spring like on the previous generation. Video : Revealing the new 2026 Nissan Navara pickup truck.
