TPO - Only 1 day left until Mid-Autumn Festival. In Ho Chi Minh City, many mooncake stalls offering "floor-breaking" promotions are still empty, while many mooncake brands that offer no discounts are still waiting in line to buy.

On the morning of September 16, according to a reporter at a moon cake shop on Pham Phu Thu Street (District 6, HCMC), many customers lined up and took numbers to wait to buy cakes.

The store sells a traditional mooncake brand popular among consumers in the Cho Lon area. "In previous years, the store was crowded, but never as crowded as this year," said a store employee.

To buy a cake, customers must take a number, then tell the staff how many types of cake they want to buy. After paying, the cake is delivered to the customer. "Because there were so many customers, I waited nearly an hour to buy the cake. Although I waited a long time, I was very happy because I finally bought the cake I wanted," said Ms. Hoa, who lives on Thuan Kieu Street (District 5).

The cakes at the above shop cost from 70,000 to 170,000 VND/piece, depending on the type. In addition, the shop also sells a special cake weighing up to 1kg with shark fin filling, roasted chicken with 4-6 eggs for up to 640,000 to 740,000 VND/piece.

The staff continuously serves customers. Customers can pre-order and schedule a pick-up date or buy directly, any quantity is available.

Many people expressed their joy when buying moon cakes for their families as gifts before the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Another famous mooncake shop in Ho Chi Minh City on Ham Nghi Street (District 1) is also quite crowded. Although not as busy as previous years, this year the shop still sells hundreds of mooncakes every day.

The mooncakes here are not on sale even though it is the end of the season. Many people said they bought the cakes because they were familiar with the brand.

Some broken or deformed cakes are sold for as cheap as 60,000 - 70,000 VND each. "Although the cakes are not packaged, the quality is still guaranteed like other types," said the sales staff.

Meanwhile, many mooncake stalls on many streets in Ho Chi Minh City, despite offering all kinds of promotions, such as: buy 1 get 3-4 free; 50% discount; buy 1 get 1 free..., are still deserted and have few customers.

The cake stalls are located close together and share the same afternoon market scene.

There was still a stall with lots of moon cakes but there were almost only sellers, no buyers.
