Along with the decision to appoint the new Director General of Customs, the Ministry of Finance also issued a retirement decision according to the regime for Mr. Nguyen Van Can, Director General of the General Department of Customs.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tho, born in 1972, from Hai Duong, is a Master of Law. Mr. Tho spent 12 years in the army before working at the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department, General Department of Customs in 2002.
He was appointed Deputy Director of the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department in October 2014.
In July 2018, he was appointed as Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel, General Department of Customs.
In September 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs.
