Sharing before the training session on the afternoon of October 6 about the news that Malaysia could be banned from competing, Tien Linh calmly said: "That is FIFA and AFC's business. We are not too concerned, the important thing is that the Vietnamese team must improve every day and show a better appearance through each match."

Recalling the defeat in the first leg against Malaysia, Tien Linh affirmed that the team learned many valuable lessons. "That day, the whole team played resiliently but unfortunately lost with a big score. I believe that if we have the chance to meet Malaysia again in March, Vietnam will show a different side and play better," he confidently said.

Tien Linh also highly appreciated the two matches against Nepal at home in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup this month.

"Facing Nepal at the moment is a good opportunity for the national team. The current Vietnam team has a mix of young and experienced players. This is an interesting combination and a test for the team. Hopefully the team will complete their tasks well in these two matches," said the striker of the HCM City Police Club.

As one of the most experienced faces, Tien Linh gave many words of encouragement to the newly summoned juniors. He shared: "The young players are showing their desire, expressing themselves and are potential factors of Vietnamese football. These two matches will give them many lessons to continue in the future."

Returning to Binh Duong Stadium after half a year, Tien Linh set a goal of scoring to help the team have a favorable start. "In the match with Laos in March, I was unlucky and did not score. In the next match against Nepal, I will try to perform better and bring home many goals for the Vietnam team," he affirmed.

The striker born in 1997 affirmed the team's determination: "With the two upcoming matches, the goal is very clear: to win. After that, in November against Laos, the goal is nothing but 3 points. In March next year against Malaysia, we will try our best to have the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Asian Cup finals."

According to the plan, the team has about a week to prepare for the first leg against Nepal at Go Dau Stadium on October 9. After that, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will move to the center of Ho Chi Minh City to play the second leg at Thong Nhat Stadium on October 14.
