In Tuyen Quang province - a land with a strategic location, the "fence" of the Fatherland, Economic-Defense Group 313 (Military Region 2) has been affirming its role as the core force, the "extended arm" of the Party and the Army in effectively implementing the National Target Program in particularly difficult areas.

Bringing policies into life, spreading to every village

From 2022 to present, Economic-Defense Group 313 (referred to as Group 313) has deployed 24 agricultural production models in remote communes of Tuyen Quang province, with a total cost of nearly 70 billion VND.

In particular, 2,153 poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty ethnic minority households have directly benefited from support models. From plant varieties, agricultural materials to livestock breeding, cultivation and preliminary processing and preservation techniques of agricultural products... all have been "guided by hand" by the Youth Union's young volunteer intellectual cadres and team members.

The implemented models not only improve income but also contribute to fundamentally changing farming practices and improving people's production level. Many households in disadvantaged communes such as Yen Hoa, Na Hang, Lam Binh have gradually escaped poverty sustainably and actively participated in building new rural areas.

In particular, the bond between the army and the people is increasingly strong. For the people in the highlands, the 313th Regiment is not only soldiers who come to help, but also relatives, close friends, and a reliable support in times of difficulty and adversity. Many village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the community have expressed their deep gratitude and firm belief in the correct policy of the Party, State and Army in bringing the program to the right places in need of support.

Strengthening the "people's hearts" and maintaining the national fence

Not only developing the economy, Group 313 also takes on the important responsibility of strengthening national defense and security in border communes and especially difficult areas of Tuyen Quang. Through propaganda activities, legal education, coordination in protecting political security, social order and safety, building a strong grassroots political system... the national defense posture associated with the people's security posture is gradually consolidated.

Activities such as mobile medical examination and treatment, free medicine distribution, programs such as "Helping children go to school", "Lighting up the village", "Joining hands for community health"... clearly demonstrate the role of soldiers as not only soldiers on the border but also teachers, doctors, and close friends of ethnic minorities.

Linking economic development with strategic national defense and security tasks

With the characteristics of rugged terrain, harsh climate, and weak infrastructure, the implementation of the National Target Program in Tuyen Quang requires the simultaneous implementation of economic, cultural, social, and defense-security goals. Group 313 has proactively integrated the task of livelihood development with propaganda work to protect national border sovereignty, prevent natural disasters, and search and rescue. Thereby forming a solid "economic-defense belt", playing the role of an outpost to protect the strategic northern region of the Fatherland.
