More than 120 excellent works entered the final round of the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" in 2025

With the aim of honoring outstanding works that contribute to promoting the cause of building and developing culture, the National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" in 2025 continues to affirm itself as one of the prestigious specialized awards, attracting the deep attention of press agencies and the public nationwide.

On the afternoon of October 9, the third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" - 2025 officially entered the Final Round, marking a vibrant, creative season and spreading strong inspiration in the press community nationwide.

Attending and chairing the Final Round were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Chairman of the Final Round Council; comrade Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee.

Also attending the event were members of the Final Jury, members of the Organizing Committee of the third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" and representatives of central news agencies and newspapers.

Speaking at the opening of the final round, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said: This year, the National Press Award "For the development of Vietnamese culture" takes place at a time when the country is undergoing profound changes, creating momentum for development in all fields. This will be the material for journalists to reflect life truthfully and have more valuable articles.

"After two times of organization, this time the award has changed its name to the National Press Award 'For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture'. This new name meets the criteria of being short, concise, impressive but covering a multi-sector, multi-field ministry in the new situation", Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh shared.

In the 2025 season, the National Press Award "For the development of Vietnamese Culture" continues to receive attention and support from the press community. This is demonstrated through the quantity and quality of submitted works.

The participating works span many fields, expressing concerns for the work of preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese cultural heritage, developing cultural industries, ethical standards in families and society, and promoting Vietnamese culture to the world," Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh added.

Presenting a report on the judging process in the Preliminary Round, comrade Tran Thai Son, Head of the Professional and Communications Department, Vietnam Journalists Association, said: In just nearly 4 months of launching, up to August 10, 2025, the Secretariat - Synthesis of the Award has received 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from many central and local press agencies. The entries are published and broadcast on various types of press: print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television and press photos, published from June 16, 2024 to July 31, 2025.

The work of preparing, screening and synthesizing works was carried out seriously, accurately and on schedule. The Secretariat - Synthesis of the Award reviewed and preliminarily selected 113 works, including 927 qualified works in the Preliminary Round. Accordingly, there were 223 works in print newspapers, 385 works in electronic newspapers, 45 works in radio, 103 works in television and 171 works in photojournalism.

The entries follow major themes, vividly reflecting many important events of 2024 and 2025 in the fields of culture, information, sports, tourism and family.

Some prominent topics that many groups of authors are interested in are: the position and role of culture in the new era of the nation; opportunities in building and developing the entertainment industry, film market, book market and reading culture; developing tourism, sports, building families, protecting children; preserving and promoting, conserving Vietnamese cultural relics and heritage; innovation and copyright in the cultural field in the current digital environment...

The results of the Final Round will be announced at the Closing Ceremony and Awarding of the National Press Awards "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture" in 2025, scheduled to be held this coming November in Hanoi. The event will be a festival for journalists in the cultural field, a forum for exchange, sharing experiences and spreading creative inspiration.
