Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son holds the position of Rector of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2025-2030 term.

On October 1, in Hanoi, Hanoi National University of Education held an announcement ceremony of the Decision to recognize Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, Rector of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2020-2025 term, to continue holding the position of Rector of the School for the 2025-2030 term, according to Decision No. 2588/QD-BGDDT dated September 11, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training.

This is an important event, contributing to the completion of the leadership team, creating a premise for the school to continue implementing the autonomy roadmap, affirming its new position in the education and training system.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong congratulated Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son on continuing to be trusted and assigned the important responsibility of Rector of Hanoi National University of Education; at the same time, emphasizing the very high demands in the coming time, associated with the requirement for breakthroughs in education and training development in general and in higher education, especially in the pedagogical sector in particular.

According to the Deputy Minister, right from the first point of view, Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo clearly stated: “Deeply and fully aware and consistently implementing the viewpoint that education and training is the top national policy, deciding the future of the nation, demonstrating the particularly important role of education and training. In particular, the team of teachers is the decisive factor in the quality of education. Hanoi National University of Education trains a team of teachers at all levels for all regions of the country, from direct teaching to management and many other positions…”

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized: Personnel work always holds a key position in the work of building the Party, State and government; in the education sector, the selection, training and appointment of leaders, especially heads of key educational institutions such as Hanoi National University of Education, is of special importance.

During more than 74 years of construction and development, Hanoi National University of Education has affirmed its position as the leading training and research center in the country, contributing greatly to the development of education and training.

The school’s staff, lecturers and scientists are constantly growing, many of whom have become prestigious experts at home and abroad. Generations of students and trainees who have grown up from this school always maintain their pride and are steadfast in their dedication to the cause of education and the development of the country.

Affirming the achievements that the school has achieved in recent times, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong emphasized: A clear proof is the solidarity and unanimity in building a leadership team of successive generations.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son has worked for nearly 25 years at Hanoi National University of Education, holding many different positions. Now, he is trusted by the school's collective, and the Minister of Education and Training has decided to recognize him as the Principal for the 2025-2030 term.

This is a great honor for Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son, when together with the collective, he shouldered the historical mission of 74 years of building Hanoi National University of Education, along with the intellectual path with very high demands, the breakthrough of education and training in general and the breakthrough of high requirements of university education in the context of pedagogy in particular.

For the 2025-2030 term, Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong hopes that the collective leadership, staff, lecturers and students of Hanoi National University of Education, under the leadership of Principal Nguyen Duc Son, will promote the tradition of solidarity, intelligence and courage, and excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the education sector. Thereby, continuing to affirm its position as a key pedagogical training and research institution, effectively contributing to the development of Vietnam's education in the new period.

In his acceptance speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son affirmed that he and the collective leadership, staff, and lecturers will continue to practice the values ​​that have been shaped in the school's history, which are: standards, creativity, and pioneering; at the same time, realize the school's training philosophy, train excellent teachers, scientists, and experts with a humanistic spirit, modern thinking, and actions for community development.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son affirmed the efforts to strive for the goal of the school becoming a national key university to have new development space for fields that are traditional strengths, such as: teacher training, educational science, social sciences and humanities, basic sciences; to be similar to other universities in the world; at the same time, to become a key pedagogical university to have a larger, more stable stature, worthy of the leading position in teacher training and in higher education; to better fulfill the school's mission, to spread professional and vocational values ​​more strongly; also to overcome the old framework and its own limitations.

Hanoi National University of Education was established on October 11, 1951 under Decree No. 276/ND of the Ministry of National Education (now the Ministry of Education and Training).

After more than 70 years of construction and development, the school has affirmed its position as a key national pedagogical training institution, making an important contribution to the development of the country's education.

Currently, the school has 52 undergraduate training majors, 56 master's training majors and 44 doctoral training majors; it has been recognized for the second cycle of educational quality assessment according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

With a staff of more than 1,033 employees, including 11 professors, 125 associate professors, nearly 300 PhDs and more than 380 masters, Hanoi National University of Education is gradually improving its capacity for scientific research and innovation, especially in the field of educational science.
