On October 11, the leader of the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province, said that he had requested Ba Don Primary School No. 1 to organize a review and draw lessons after the controversial incident of boarding students' meals.

According to the leader of Ba Don ward, the organization of boarding at Ba Don Primary School No. 1 still has limitations and shortcomings. The meals on October 6 for students were not in accordance with the published menu, the quantity of food was small, and the form of the meals did not ensure nutrition.

Ba Don Ward authorities found that the supervision and management of the Principal and the school's kitchen supervision team were not strict, and the coordination between the school and parents in caring for and nurturing students was limited.

To overcome the above situation, the People's Committee of Ba Don Ward requested the Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 to review and rectify the entire boarding organization process, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations and food rations for students.

The People's Committee of Ba Don Ward also requested the school to closely coordinate with the Parents' Representative Committee in nurturing, caring for and educating students, strengthen internal supervision, and publicize the menu and photos of daily meals for parents to monitor.

As Dan Tri reported, the meal of students at Ba Don Primary School No. 1 caused a stir because of the image of a tray with white rice, about 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, peanut salt, and the remaining tray had vegetable soup.

Many people think that such a portion is too small compared to the price of 25,000 VND and it is difficult to ensure nutrition for boarding students.

Regarding the incident, Ms. Tran Thi Minh Thuy, Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, said that the image circulating on social media was the school's students' lunch on October 6 and admitted that the meal did not meet requirements.

According to Ms. Thuy, Ba Don Primary School No. 1 signed a contract with a lunch supplier at 25,000 VND/meal. Parents directly register and pay weekly or monthly to the supplier, the school does not participate in the financial aspect but is only responsible for supervision.

The company said that due to negligence in preparation, not using pork during the epidemic and food shortages after the storm, the students' meals on October 6 did not meet standards.

After the incident, the Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 sent a letter of apology to parents and students. The school also worked with the catering unit to learn from experience and avoid similar incidents from happening again.
