At retail markets, rice prices remain stable. Nang Nhen rice is the most expensive, at VND28,000/kg. Huong Lai rice is at VND22,000/kg, long-grain Thai fragrant rice is from VND20,000 - 22,000/kg. Taiwanese fragrant rice fluctuates around VND20,000/kg, Jasmine is from VND16,000 - 18,000/kg, while common rice is at VND13,000 - 15,000/kg. Rice export prices in Asia

Thai rice prices fell to their lowest in nearly 18 years this week, while Indian rice fell to its weakest in more than nine years due to falling demand and abundant supplies, Reuters reported. Currency fluctuations also contributed to the price pressure.

In Thailand, 5% broken rice was offered at $340 a tonne, the lowest since November 2007. Supplies are plentiful this year thanks to favorable weather, but prices have struggled to recover as buyers only buy what they need. A rising baht has also made exports difficult.

In India, 5% broken parboiled rice was sold at $340-$345 a tonne, down sharply from $358-$365 a tonne last week, while 5% broken white rice was quoted at $360-$370 a tonne. Some exporters said fierce competition among countries kept prices down, while a weak rupee added to the pressure.

In Bangladesh, the government has approved the purchase of 50,000 tonnes of rice from India at $359.77 per tonne through international bidding, aiming to stabilize domestic food prices amid volatile global grain markets.

Vietnam's rice export prices slightly decreased

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of Vietnam's 5% broken fragrant rice remained unchanged at 440 - 465 USD/ton, while 5% broken white rice decreased slightly by 1 USD to 374 - 378 USD/ton. The trading market was quiet due to weak demand, especially in the Philippines - one of Vietnam's largest customers - which has temporarily suspended imports.

In September, Vietnam exported 483,000 tons of rice, down 41.3% compared to the same period last year. In the first 9 months of the year, the total rice export volume reached 6.9 million tons, down 1.6% compared to the same period, equivalent to a turnover of 3.5 billion USD.

Pepper price today October 11: Domestic price remains high

In the Central Highlands, pepper prices in Dak Lak were purchased at 148,000 VND/kg, the same as yesterday. Gia Lai maintained the price at 146,000 VND/kg, while Lam Dong remained stable at 148,000 VND/kg.

In the Southeast region, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai both recorded prices of 149,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the previous session. Binh Phuoc fluctuated around 147,000 VND/kg.

In Brazil, the price of ASTA 570 black pepper remained at 6,200 USD/ton, while Kuching black pepper from Malaysia reached 9,500 USD/ton. In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper fluctuated between 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton depending on the type of 500 g/l or 550 g/l.

The price of Indonesian Muntok white pepper reached 10,088 USD/ton, down 0.31%. Malaysian ASTA white pepper remained at 12,500 USD/ton, while Vietnamese white pepper was stable at around 9,250 USD/ton.

In the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam exported nearly 1.3 billion USD worth of pepper - equivalent to the whole year of 2024. The average export price reached about 6,773 USD/ton, an increase of more than 37% over the same period last year.

Industry players said pepper prices rose thanks to a drop in global supply and strong demand from major markets such as the US, India and the Middle East. Vietnam maintained its position as the world’s leading pepper supplier.

Coffee price today October 11: Slight decrease

Domestic coffee prices on October 11 recorded a downward trend in the Central Highlands after many sessions of maintaining at a high level. The average decrease was about 500 VND/kg, bringing the purchasing price to fluctuate between 113,600 and 114,500 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak province, coffee prices are currently at VND114,500/kg, down VND500/kg compared to yesterday. In Gia Lai, prices have decreased similarly, trading around VND114,000/kg.

In Lam Dong, the price decreased by 400 VND/kg, down to 113,600 VND/kg. The old Dak Nong area is purchasing at the highest level in the country, reaching 114,500 VND/kg, also slightly down 500 VND/kg compared to the previous session.

Currently, domestic coffee prices remain above VND110,000/kg, nearly triple that of two years ago. However, the high prices force businesses to mobilize larger capital for purchasing and production. Temporarily paying value-added tax while banks restrict lending also tightens cash flow, putting pressure on exporters.

On the London exchange, the price of robusta for November 2025 delivery closed at $4,480/ton, down $88/ton, equivalent to 1.92%. The contract for January 2026 delivery fell $81/ton to $4,391/ton.

On the New York floor, Arabica prices continued to fall. The December 2025 contract fell 4.2 US cents/pound (1.1%) to 373.05 US cents/lb; the March 2026 contract fell 4.05 US cents/pound to 356.35 US cents/lb.

The Brazilian exchange also recorded a similar decrease with the December 2025 Arabica contract reaching 445.9 US cents/pound, down 0.8%, and the March 2026 contract at 442.1 US cents/pound, down 1.11%.

The general downward trend in international prices is directly affecting the domestic market, causing domestic coffee prices to temporarily stagnate after a long period of increase.

Durian remains the mainstay, accounting for more than 40% of Vietnam’s total fruit export turnover. Since China opened its doors to official imports under the protocol, durian exports have recovered strongly in September, especially thanks to increased demand during the festive season. However, overall, in the first 8 months of 2025, export volume still decreased by 16.2% compared to the same period in 2024.

Pig price today October 11: North and South slightly decreased

In the North, the price of live pigs has decreased by VND1,000/kg in some provinces. Localities such as Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Hung Yen are currently purchasing at VND53,000/kg. Lai Chau and Son La have dropped to VND52,000/kg.

Meanwhile, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and Dien Bien maintained the price at 53,000 VND/kg, while Hanoi and Hai Phong remained the two localities with the highest price in the region at 54,000 VND/kg. Thus, the price of live pigs in the North today fluctuated from 52,000 to 54,000 VND/kg.

The market is in a period of slight adjustment, reflecting a more balanced supply and demand after a long period of high prices. It is expected that the price of live pigs may continue to fluctuate slightly in the coming days depending on weekend consumption demand and supply from large farms.

Rubber price today October 11: World market increases sharply

At the end of the trading session, the price of rubber futures for November delivery in Thailand increased by 0.3% to 67.09 baht/kg. In Japan, the price on the OSE floor increased by 0.7% to 305 yen/kg. In China, the price of rubber traded at 14,485 yuan/ton, up 1.5%.

At the SGX - Singapore floor, the price of TSR20 rubber contract for delivery in November 2025 increased by 1.48% to 171.70 cents/kg.

According to the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC), the global rubber market is being hit hard by tight supplies, while demand, especially from China, is recovering strongly. Declining inventories at major Chinese ports indicate a significant increase in consumption. However, heavy rains and labor shortages in major producing countries have disrupted latex tapping, further tightening supplies.

ANRPC forecasts that global rubber production in 2025 will increase only slightly by 0.5% to about 14.89 million tons, while demand may increase by 1.3% to 15.57 million tons. This means that the market will continue to be undersupplied. In August alone, global production reached only 1.38 million tons, down 0.75% compared to the previous month. Thailand - the largest producer - reached 458,800 tons, down 0.43%, while Malaysia was heavily affected by prolonged heavy rains.

In Vietnam, rubber prices remain stable. Ba Ria Rubber Company quotes the price of liquid latex at 415 VND/degree TSC/kg (applied to degrees TSC from 25 to under 30), DRC latex fluctuates around 15,000 VND/kg, an increase of 800 VND, and raw latex remains at 20,000 VND/kg.
