With quality and aesthetic value, Phuong Do fine art wooden products have become a local brand, helping people increase their income. |
After the merger, Phu Binh commune determined to take advantage of potential and opportunities to promote local industry, creating momentum for economic growth associated with sustainable development. The focus is on light industry, maintaining traditional craft villages, cooperatives and encouraging start-ups.
The local economic structure is clearly shifting towards rapidly increasing the proportion of industry and handicrafts with industries such as: food processing, wood, handicrafts, mechanical processing, construction materials, etc.
In recent years, many new investment projects have been formed, along with a convenient transportation system, creating more development momentum for the locality. The Commune People's Committee has taken advantage of the Central and Provincial industrial promotion funds to implement projects to support rural industrial establishments and craft villages in applying new technologies, improving productivity and product quality. These policies have helped many households change their production mindset, boldly invest in modern machinery, expand production scale, thereby improving business efficiency.
Phu Binh is interested in developing small-scale handicraft villages through supporting production and consumption linkages, contributing to improving operational efficiency; typical examples include Phuong Do fine art carpentry village, Uc Ky sticky rice soy sauce village, Thau Dau sticky rice growing association, Binh Minh agricultural cooperative producing clean vegetables...
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong, owner of Phuong Do wooden furniture production facility : along with economic development, members of the craft village have flexibly adapted, expanded production and supported people to change jobs, helping to increase income. Currently, the craft village is stable with 48 members.
Phu Binh's labor structure has also shifted strongly towards increasing industry and services, gradually reducing agriculture. Implementing the province's policy, the commune has proactively planned land funds, attracted industrial clusters and investment development projects. Many households have boldly shifted to trade and service businesses.
Ms. Duong Thi Huong, owner of the Uc Ky sticky rice production facility, shared: Thanks to convenient infrastructure and transportation, her family has the conditions to expand production. On average, each month she sells more than 3,000 liters of soy sauce to the market, ensuring her life and increasing her income.
According to assessment, Phu Binh's economic structure has had a positive shift, in which industry and construction account for 64.8%; services 17.4%; agriculture, forestry and fishery 17.8%. In the area, there are currently 2 licensed industrial clusters, Hanh Phuc - Xuan Phuong with over 77 hectares and Bao Ly - Xuan Phuong phase 1, which has cleared about 40 hectares of land and is building a factory. These are projects that create expectations of forming large-scale production centers, attracting more local workers.
Projects and industrial clusters in Phu Binh commune create momentum to promote the transformation of local economic structure. |
In addition, the commune has 85 enterprises and nearly 3,500 production and business establishments. The value of small-scale industrial and service production in 2025 is estimated to reach over 1,500 billion VND. About 10 residential and urban projects are being implemented, contributing to increasing budget revenue and creating jobs for more than 2,300 workers. These projects not only promote growth but also change the face of the countryside, gradually forming civilized and modern residential areas.
Comrade Duong Quang Bao, Party Secretary, Chairman of Phu Binh Commune People's Council: After implementing the 2-level local government model, the commune quickly stabilized its apparatus, concretized the resolution into practical programs and plans. The commune identified industry as the spearhead in the economic field, leading to the development of services, construction and agriculture.
In 2025, the province approved the investment policy of Phu Binh Industrial Park with a scale of 675 hectares, of which the commune has about 22 hectares of industrial land. In addition, Phu Binh continues to maintain and develop traditional craft villages to provide typical products to the market, increasing income for people.
Phu Binh sets a target of achieving an average income of 98 million VND/person/year by 2030; budget revenue increasing by 12.5%/year; industrial value increasing by 10.5%/year or more; basically no more poor households before 2030. The commune is determined to make 3 breakthroughs: Focus on site clearance, attracting investment; promote administrative reform associated with digital transformation; build a team of cadres and civil servants who dare to innovate, be creative, and face difficulties.
With clear economic restructuring steps, Phu Binh is opening up a new direction of development, creating a solid driving force on the path of industrialization and modernization of rural areas.
