After days of heavy rain due to the impact of storm No. 11, by the morning of October 8, the rain had stopped but the water level remained high and slowly receded. Many residential areas, roads, and low-lying areas were still deeply flooded, and traffic was cut off. While the authorities were making efforts to rescue and save people day and night, in a small corner in the center of the area, volunteer kitchens were burning non-stop.

The location of the cooking stove is at Thu Vien Restaurant, where there is electricity, water and dry ground. Ms. Phung Mai Thu, owner of Thu Vien Restaurant, said: The surrounding area is deeply flooded but our establishment is fortunately not affected. I decided to open the door, support the location for the Nhan Ai Club and the people to cook, hoping to contribute a small part to the community to help the needy.

Here, the Charity Club has mobilized and coordinated with kind-hearted people to cook thousands of relief meals. Each person has a job, some wash vegetables, some wash rice, some cook, some distribute portions... everyone is busy but their eyes shine with joy, because they know that those meals will arrive in time for their compatriots who are isolated in the middle of the sea.

Ms. Vu Thi Mai, Head of the Charity Club, said: My house was also flooded, the damage was quite severe. Initially, we did not have a plan to organize this activity, but when we saw the water rising quickly, people in many places were isolated, without food, we could not sit still. Stemming from the feelings for neighbors, for compatriots in trouble, whoever still has strength, please contribute.

In the processing area, 78-year-old Nguyen Thi Bich Suu is still working hard with the elderly volunteers to pick vegetables, wash roots, and prepare ingredients. Nguyen Thi Bich Suu said: My strength is limited, but I will do what I can. I just hope that people in flooded areas will have a hot meal and have more motivation to overcome difficulties.

Inside, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy carefully divided each meal, sharing as she worked: Each meal has rice, meat, and vegetables. We try to package it carefully and cleanly so that people can have a nutritious and warm meal.

On the afternoon of October 7 alone, the Charity Club and volunteers cooked 900 meals to deliver to people in isolated areas. It is expected that today, October 8, the number of meals will increase to about 3,000 - 4,000, along with tons of rice, meat, vegetables, drinking water and other necessities being donated and supplied continuously.

Each lunch box was transported by boat, temporary raft or specialized vehicle, crossing deep flooded areas to reach the people in the flood-affected areas in time. During the days when Thai Nguyen was still submerged in floodwaters, that fire of humanity became a bright spot, where the warmth of sharing was spread, adding faith and determination for people to firmly overcome the hardship.
