The speech reviewing the historical tradition of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Vietnamese Women's Day October 20, presented by comrade Ha Thi Thuong Huyen, Vice President of the Women's Association of Cinema of the People's Army, emphasized: Through the revolutionary periods, with many different names to suit the nature and requirements of the tasks such as: "Liberation Women's Association", "Democratic Women's Association", "Anti-Imperialist Women's Association", "National Salvation Women's Union", the official name "Vietnam Women's Union" from October 20, 1946 has been used to this day. Since then, October 20 has become a historical milestone, marking the birth of a revolutionary mass organization, where Vietnamese women can stand up, speak their voices, and participate in the struggle for independence and national construction.

After 95 years of establishment and development, with more than 50% of the population being women, the Vietnam Women's Union has promoted its mission, closely associated with the revolutionary cause of the nation. The Union is not only a legal representative organization for women and children, but also a source of encouragement and spiritual support for millions of women across the country.
