General Secretary To Lam affirmed that nearly a century of continuous growth and dedication has been a brilliant journey for Vietnamese women and the Vietnam Women's Union. |
Women – the focus of the transitional era
The world is changing every day with the profound movements of the digital age. In that flow, Vietnamese women are not only the ones who build the family but also the factors that create new strength for the nation.
The concepts of “green growth”, “digital transformation” or “sustainable development” are no longer slogans but have become vital requirements for every country. Along with that, a series of global challenges such as climate change, technology competition, misinformation, cyber violence, new risks of inequality... In that picture, women with their sensitivity, courage and adaptability are playing an increasingly important role in the development journey of humanity.
Speaking at the 95th Anniversary of the Vietnam Women's Union, which took place on the afternoon of October 2, General Secretary To Lam affirmed: “The world today is moving very fast and very deeply. We are entering an era of three major transformations: Green - Digital - Human Resources; at the same time facing many traditional and non-traditional security challenges: climate change, supply chain disruption, technology competition, misinformation, cyber violence, and new risks of inequality. At the center of these transformations are people, and women have a particularly important position.”
This statement not only highlights the role, but also affirms the value and belief in the capacity of women in the new era. Three major transformations – green, digital and human resources – are reshaping every area of life. In each of these transformations, women are not only affected, but also lead the change.
In green transformation, women are pioneers in changing consumer behavior, sustainable lifestyles and educating the younger generation about environmental awareness. From small actions in the family to big initiatives in businesses, women are spreading the spirit of green living and responsible living. In digital transformation, women are no longer "outsiders to technology" as before. More and more women are mastering technology, starting creative businesses, participating in data management, and running businesses on digital platforms.
And in the transformation of human resources, women are at the center of the process of forming high-quality human resources not only because they participate in the workforce, but also because they directly educate and nurture the next generation. When women are empowered, society has more powerful, knowledgeable and humane citizens.
The power of modern women
Courage is not only the ability to overcome difficulties, but also the steadfastness in life values, in choices and actions. Vietnamese women today are demonstrating that courage in many different roles. Confidence helps women step out of the limits of prejudice, dare to dream and act. If in the past, society often associated women with the image of hard work and sacrifice, today, they are also symbols of intelligence, courage and desire to contribute. Confident women do not need to be perfect, but dare to live truthfully, dare to speak, dare to challenge themselves.
In education, many universities have promoted capacity development programs and soft skills for female students. From there, a generation of young, dynamic women, ready to integrate globally, is formed. They are the image of the new-age Vietnamese woman who knows how to love but also knows how to take control of her future.
"Entering the period of innovation and integration, women are at the forefront of entrepreneurship and innovation, in household economy, cooperative economy, small and medium enterprises; they are the core force of the textile, footwear, electronics, tourism, and care services industries... Female intellectuals, female entrepreneurs, female workers, female farmers, female artists, female soldiers in the armed forces... all create a new face for the country. Many women have become leading scientists, excellent teachers, good doctors, writers, journalists, people's artists, champion athletes; many women are elected representatives, leaders at all levels, key cadres at the grassroots level, participating in policy planning and implementation. The picture of Vietnamese women today is diverse but unified: Courage - intelligence - humanity - creativity - perseverance", excerpt from the speech of General Secretary To Lam. |
In a high-tech world where everything is run by algorithms, what people need most is emotion and compassion. From simple actions such as helping the disadvantaged, spreading the spirit of volunteerism, to initiating social initiatives towards the community, women are contributing to building a humane culture in the digital age. They are the ones who connect the past with the future, tradition with modernity.
A strong woman is one who knows how to love properly, knows how to use kindness to spread positive energy, not just be strong to overcome difficulties. That simple saying shows: the strength of Vietnamese women comes not only from determination, but also from kindness and tolerance.

Investing in women is investing in the future of the nation.
In the context of deep integration, the image of Vietnamese women is increasingly appearing in regional and global forums. They are diplomats, businessmen, scientists, social activists - people who bring the Vietnamese spirit to the world. Each foreign affairs event, each international forum is not only an opportunity for cooperation, but also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnamese women: Courageous - compassionate - integrated - developed.
It is important to continue investing in education, foreign language training, leadership skills and international communication for women. Create more equal conditions in career opportunities and in decision-making at all levels. When women have a worthy position, their voices will not only be heard domestically but also internationally.
As affirmed by General Secretary To Lam: "We have the right to expect: by 2030 and vision 2045, Vietnamese women will truly become a revolutionary force, a driving force for development, a fulcrum of happiness; Vietnamese families will truly be loving homes, healthy cells of society; our country will be strong, prosperous, prosperous and happy".
In the flow of integration, the soft power of a country does not only come from the economy or science, but also from the image of people, especially women. A country with strong, confident, and kind women will always be seen as a civilized, progressive, and trustworthy country.
The image of Vietnamese women today is no longer limited to the framework of “being good at public affairs and good at housework”, but is the image of future creators who are both national soul keepers and global citizens. They contribute to creating a new face of Vietnam: modern but humane, innovative but attached to the roots.
As General Secretary To Lam emphasized, “investing in women is investing in national productivity and the future of the nation” . This is a reminder and a profound political commitment to putting women at the center of all sustainable development policies.
Building Vietnamese women in the new era is a journey that cannot be separated from the development of the country. It is not only the goal of the women's movement, but also the common responsibility of the whole society from education, communication to policy.
