Phuoc Hoa Ward (Tam Ky City) celebrates its 40th anniversary

Phuoc Hoa Ward was established at the end of 1983 according to Decision No. 144 (December 3, 1983) of the Council of Ministers, on the basis of dividing Tam Ky district into two administrative units: Tam Ky town (now Tam Ky city) and Nui Thanh district.

Over the past 40 years, the Party Committee, government and people of Phuoc Hoa ward have continuously promoted revolutionary traditions, creatively applied the Party's leadership, gradually overcome all difficulties, and strived to achieve important achievements.

In particular, compensation - site clearance - resettlement, investment in infrastructure construction, upgrading and urban beautification have become bright spots in the locality's development process.

Many key projects of the city and locality are coordinated to be implemented such as: Tam Ky City Commercial Center, Bach Dang Commercial and Cultural Residential Area, Bach Dang Flood Dike, Bach Dang Street and technical infrastructure of residential area west of Bach Dang Street, Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Le Duan Street, Ky Phu Bridge 1 & 2.

During the implementation process, nearly 600 households in the project area agreed to comply with the compensation - site clearance - resettlement policy, moving to new residences to give up land for infrastructure development, urban beautification as well as public works.

Up to now, the economy in the ward continues to grow and develop steadily; the main economic proportion and structure is trade and services (accounting for about 90%). Total state budget revenue in 2023 is estimated to reach more than 23.3 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Hoang Duc - Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Tam Ky City praised the efforts of the cadres and people of Phuoc Hoa ward over the past 40 years.

Mr. Pham Hoang Duc requested Phuoc Hoa ward to actively coordinate and prepare the best conditions for organizational structure to complete the merger of administrative boundaries of Phuoc Hoa and An Xuan wards on January 1, 2025. After establishing a new ward named An Xuan, cadres, party members and people continue to strive to develop the locality.
