The winner of the 2024 Ballon d'Or was announced today 2024. The award is given to the player who receives the most votes. The choice is not entirely based on emotion but still has some criteria.
The 2024 Golden Ball is based on 3 criteria: Individual performance and statistics; collective titles; fair play (playing football fairly and equally). Having grasped all the criteria, 100 journalists from countries with teams in the top 100 in the world (according to FIFA rankings) will vote for the players.

France Football magazine's Ballon d'Or nomination list includes 30 names, but each journalist can only write 10 names on the ballot. The position of the journalists is also very important, because the player who is ranked first will be awarded more points.
In the ballot, the 10 players ranked from top to bottom will receive points of 15, 12, 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (points) respectively. For example, if a journalist writes the first player's name as Rodri, then writes Vinicius Jr and Bellingham, then Rodri is awarded 15 points, Vinicius Jr is awarded 12 points, Bellingham is awarded 10 points.
The scoring method for the women's Ballon d'Or is similar, but only 50 journalists from the top 50 countries in the FIFA rankings are allowed to vote.
The scoring method of the 2024 Golden Ball is somewhat different from previous years. Before the 2023 Golden Ball award ceremony, journalists were only allowed to vote for 5 players, half of the number this year.
UEFA and France Football now have all the votes from journalists in their hands. The results will be announced at the 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony, taking place at 1:45 a.m. (Vietnam time).

Golden Ball 2024 final results leaked?
An account on social network X leaked the results of the 2024 Golden Ball Awards Ceremony. In which, striker Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid) achieved 630 points and came first. Following Vinicius Jr are Rodri (Man City) with 576 points and Bellingham (Real Madrid) with 422 points.
Striker Erling Haaland finished only 6th despite winning the Premier League and being named top scorer. He finished just behind Haaland and Lamine Yamal, who is almost certain to win the Kopa Trophy at the awards ceremony. This is awarded to the best player under 21 years of age in the year.
This is not an official scorecard from UEFA. Fans will have to wait until the Ballon d'Or ceremony to find out who will be crowned the best men's player of the year. The 2024 Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place at 1:45 a.m. (Vietnam time) in Paris.

Does a player get to keep the Ballon d'Or?
The Ballon d'Or is produced annually, so the winner gets to take the Ballon d'Or home. Currently, the France Football museum still retains the Ballon d'Or of Pele and Maradona for display purposes. These two Ballon d'Ors are more special than other awards, because they were produced to pay tribute to the entire illustrious careers of the two late legends.
