The 34th Corps promotes patriotic emulation movement

(GLO)- Recently, the 34th Army Corps has promoted the patriotic emulation movement with specific and practical actions. Thanks to that, the unit has successfully completed the assigned tasks, contributing to maintaining the strategic area.

Compete for good training

Colonel Nguyen Trung Hieu - Division Commander of Division 320 (Army Corps 34) said: In recent years, the Division has focused on implementing movements such as: "Supporting the training season", "Model training company", "Model setting a good example"... As a result, 100% of the training content met the requirements, of which over 80% achieved good, excellent, exceeding the set targets. The unit maintained 2 companies achieving "3 good explosions" in training new recruits.

To carry out training and combat readiness tasks well, the 34th Corps has linked the emulation movement with the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers"; closely following the training motto "Basic, practical, solid" and the emulation spirit "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, practicing enthusiastically"... The Corps combines military training with political education, strengthens competitions, sports, tests and evaluates results, organizes preliminary/summary summaries to draw experience, and rewards each period and stage at all levels.

Accordingly, the number of troops participating in training reached 98.7% or more; 100% of cadres trained according to hierarchy, more than 37% of platoon and company cadres trained well; more than 50% of battalion cadres trained well, 100% of agency cadres completed their tasks according to their responsibilities, many comrades completed well. The training results of the subjects were more than 80% good and excellent (40% excellent). Along with that, the movement of technical innovation and improvement was also promoted, with 24-36 technical innovations and improvements applied to training and combat readiness every year.

Lieutenant General Dao Tuan Anh - Commander of the 34th Corps - informed: The patriotic emulation movement has been concretized by agencies and units with specific movements and tasks. Cadres at all levels, especially those in charge, must do a good job of setting an example, "self-reflection, self-correction", and implementing "The superiors set an exemplary example, the subordinates actively follow". In the period of 2016 - 2025, the Corps has built 276 groups and 1,432 typical advanced individuals in emulation movements. Thereby, improving the quality of combat readiness training, building a strong, comprehensive, exemplary Corps.

Competition towards the grassroots

Over the years, officers and soldiers of the 34th Corps have always been imbued with Uncle Ho's teachings: "Competition is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation. And those who compete are the most patriotic." In particular, the unit's emulation movements focus on the grassroots.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Thach - Deputy Political Commissar of the 7th Engineer Brigade - said: "In order to carry out the patriotic emulation movement, we have directed agencies and units to develop plans, focusing on specific contents and tasks. In particular, we focus on helping people, being ready to deploy rescue plans. The unit's staff and soldiers have not been afraid of difficulties, hardships, and even sacrifices to focus on helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters."

From 2020 to now, officers and soldiers of Division 320 have contributed more than 15,000 working days to help localities build 60 houses for poor households. In 2025 alone, the unit and localities of Gia Lai province will build 52 houses under the program "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"; dozens of "Comrade Houses", "Houses of Gratitude", "Houses of 100 Dong" will also be handed over to officers, soldiers and people in difficult circumstances.

Colonel Vo Son Anh - Political Commissar of Division 320 - said: Currently, the Division supports 71 poor students in 3 border communes of Gia Lai province with a total budget of more than 4 billion VND; hundreds of Tet gifts, tons of rice are given to policy families, poor households, lonely elderly people... Those practical actions contribute to strengthening people's trust, tightening military-civilian solidarity, and further highlighting the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.

Keeping in mind Uncle Ho's teaching: "Mass mobilization is very important. If mass mobilization is poor, everything will be poor. If mass mobilization is skillful, everything will be successful", officers and soldiers of the 34th Corps always actively promote mass mobilization work, together with local Party committees and authorities, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, consolidating the "people's hearts" more and more firmly. With the motto "listen to people, speak to people, make people understand, make people believe", the Corps Command has directed units to regularly innovate the content, methods and measures to conduct mass mobilization work in the spirit of focusing on the grassroots, actively researching and solving arising problems, especially in remote, isolated, border and ethnic minority areas.

Since the beginning of the year, the Corps has given more than 35,000 gifts to officers, soldiers, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and policy beneficiaries in the military area on the occasion of holidays and Tet with a total amount of more than 27 billion VND. Mr. Dinh Van Dap (Brang Dak Kliet village, Ya Hoi commune) said: "I am very happy because the officers and soldiers of the 7th Engineer Brigade built a new house for me. Thanks to this new house, my family has a stable life. I always encourage my children and grandchildren to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws, not to believe and listen to bad people, and to work hard to have a better life."
