Each person has a job to ensure that the unit's growing area always has vegetables, tubers, and fruits, and does not leave the land empty or the vegetables too ripe. Captain Dao Trong Tiem, Deputy Battalion Commander of Battalion 7, shared: "Due to the soil characteristics, it is mainly clay and alum soil. In the dry season, the soil is as hard as rock, and in the rainy season, water stagnates into many muddy puddles. Therefore, to take care of the vegetable garden, we have soldiers cut grass, clean up trash, collect composted water hyacinth to improve the soil; mix in fertile soil and properly treat pathogens before planting seedlings. The care and irrigation process is carried out according to the instructions of the Logistics-Technical Department so that the garden and trellis are always green and give high yields."

The area where Regiment 3 is stationed is quite high, so there is often a lack of water in the dry season. To overcome this situation, the Regiment has organized the digging of water ponds and the construction of water reservoirs from the rainy season; directed the logistics and technical agency to make plans for seasonal production and livestock raising, select vegetable varieties suitable for the weather, climate, soil, and crop rotation, and convert appropriate crop structures; strictly implement measures to prevent and control epidemics; utilize and improve vacant land to grow fruit trees suitable for the soil, creating a green, clean, beautiful environment and bringing high economic efficiency and food safety.
Currently, the battalions and companies under the Regiment all have lush vegetable gardens, papaya, banana, guava gardens, etc. The Regiment also has a timber garden. The unit’s concentrated growing area has invested in a high-tech greenhouse system to be able to grow vegetables that are difficult to grow in the rainy season.

In addition, the Regiment regularly organizes competitions on "Regular, safe, quality kitchens and canteens associated with production models", "Unit that feeds troops well, manages military supplies well"... Thereby, arousing the spirit of self-reliance and creativity of the units, building 100% of units with kitchens that meet the standards of "Kitchen that feeds troops well, manages military supplies well". In the first 6 months of 2025, 100% of the Regiment's units have kitchens that meet the standards of "Kitchen that feeds troops well, manages military supplies well"...
