Road to Olympia 2024 Champion Vo Quang Phu Duc: Brave and smart tactics

On the morning of October 13, after 4 intense rounds, contestant Vo Quang Phu Duc, a student of Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue, officially became the Champion of Road to Olympia 2024 with a score of 220.

Sharing with reporters right after the program ended, Phu Duc said: "Throughout the rounds, I always kept my spirit and mentality stable to perform my best."

Phu Duc revealed that the secret to winning is being brave and having smart tactics. Duc always tries to get the highest score in the Warm-up round to gain an advantage for himself in the following rounds. After getting 60 points in the Warm-up round, Phu Duc quickly got another 60 points in just the first few seconds of the Warm-up round. After finishing 3 rounds, Phu Duc kept a large distance from his friends. For Phu Duc, this is his success.

Talking about the most memorable moments, Phu Duc said: "That was the Obstacle Course. Before the final round, I thought of this year's theme as NET ZERO, solidarity or something like fulcrum. A few seconds before pressing the bell to answer, I thought about whether I should really take a risk, but I decided to press the bell because I was confident with this answer.

The Finish Line was also memorable. Looking back now, if I hadn't changed the answer "storm tree" to "storm", the game wouldn't have been as emotional. And the final moments of the competition, when Nguyen Phu pressed the bell to answer correctly and was 20 points ahead of me, were also the moments that made me quite nervous."

The champion of Road to Olympia 2024, Vo Quang Phu Duc, is the 7th contestant from Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted to participate in the final round of the competition. After 7 recordings, two students from this school brought home the joy of victory when they won the prestigious laurel wreath: Ho Ngoc Han (2009) and Ho Dac Thanh Chuong (2016).

With this victory, Phu Duc received a 24k gold-plated laurel wreath, a commemorative cup, a prize worth 50,000 USD and the opportunity to study abroad in Australia.
