On the evening of October 14, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha chaired a national online conference of the National Steering Committee against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU) to deploy tasks for the coming time.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha chaired the Ha Tinh bridge. Attending were representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.

Since the online conference on October 7, 2025 of the National Steering Committee on IUU, ministries, branches and localities have continued to implement tasks and solutions in accordance with the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and achieved many remarkable results.
Up to now, 27,990/28,225 vessels have installed voyage monitoring equipment (VMS), reaching a rate of 99.16%. Currently, there are 7,130 vessels that are not qualified to operate (not registered, not having a valid license), a decrease of 1,888 vessels compared to last week. The number of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port on the electronic tracking system (eCDT) increased by 2,462 vessels leaving the port, an increase of 412 vessels arriving at the port compared to last week. During the week, 14,812 fishing vessels completed entry and exit procedures according to regulations.

For Ha Tinh, the fight against illegal fishing has been vigorously implemented. Currently, the whole province has 3,980 fishing vessels with a length of 6m or more that have been registered and updated to the national fisheries database (VNFishbase); fishing licenses have been granted and renewed for 3,973/3,980 fishing vessels, reaching a rate of 99.82%; 100% of fishing vessels with a length of 15m or more operating in offshore areas have installed VMS equipment...

Ha Tinh has no fishing vessels or fishermen illegally exploiting seafood in foreign waters; no cases of brokers or collusion for fishing vessels to illegally exploit in foreign waters have been discovered.
At fishing ports, information technology has been applied in controlling fishing vessels entering and leaving, regularly supporting fishermen and businesses in tracing the origin of exploited aquatic products on electronic systems.
Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested relevant ministries, branches and localities to continue to resolutely and synchronously deploy solutions to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.

The focus is on promoting propaganda and raising awareness among fishermen to strictly implement the provisions of the Fisheries Law. Completely completing the installation of voyage monitoring equipment for fishing vessels; seriously and transparently implementing the work of tracing the origin of exploited seafood.
Urgently issue fishing licenses to fishing vessels that meet the requirements as prescribed. The authorities continue to conduct patrols, inspections, control, and handle illegal fishing activities, so that Vietnam can soon remove the EC's "Yellow Card" warning. In the immediate future, prepare a specific scenario with clear content to prepare to work with the 5th inspection team of the European Commission.
