Ban Co Peak on Son Tra Peninsula has long been one of the "check-in" spots attracting tourists when coming to Da Nang city.

In recent days, after the news that billionaire Bill Gates had just visited, drank tea and chatted here during his vacation in Da Nang, this place has attracted even more tourists.

Located at an altitude of more than 700m above sea level and only a few kilometers from the city center, Ban Co is a place where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Da Nang city. On days with little fog, visitors can sit and watch the sunset and see the city lights up.

More particularly, at certain times of the year, this place has thick fog, creating an exciting feeling for visitors.

When moving from an altitude of 400m and above, the fog begins to thicken. All the way to the top, both sides of the primeval forest appear and disappear in the mist.

Moving in the fog, visibility ahead is less than 10m so vehicles must stick close to the center of the road and move very slowly.

Mr. Dang Nam, a resident of Son Tra district, said that what makes many of his friends excited when they come here to visit is that it only takes about 10 minutes for tourists to see the fog in Da Nang.

This is the point where it is easy to see the changes in climate and weather.

"On sunny days, the road to the top of Ban Co is shaded by trees.

Sometimes it's sunny on the street, but here it's cloudy with the temperature like in Dalat.

"On foggy days, it gives a mysterious, magical feeling. This is something that is not easy to find on the coastal strip," said Mr. Nam.

There is only one way to the top of Ban Co Mountain.

The road to Ban Co peak is very beautiful. Vehicles of all types can go directly to the top by declaring at the guard stations.

Previously, there were many ways to go to the top of Ban Co. However, recently, there has been heavy rain in the Central region, causing landslides on some roads, so now there is only one way for cars to go to the top.

Visitors can choose to go on Yet Kieu Street, then turn up the mountain by the road on the left of the Naval Region 3 Command. The road to Ban Co Peak must pass through a guard station. At the same time, visitors can stop to rest and hunt clouds at many places such as radar stations, Son Tra reading station, Vong Canh house...
