Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan - Head of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, Department of Agriculture and Environment said: "The province's crop production industry is at a pivotal stage, green, organic and circular production is no longer a pilot model, but has become the main orientation. The crop structure continues to be adjusted towards efficiency, the area of food crops and fruit trees with high economic value is expanded. In the first 9 months of 2025 alone, the area of crop structure conversion reached more than 1,260 hectares, contributing to improving land use efficiency, adapting to climate and market conditions. Notably, the area of high-tech production reached 426 hectares, an increase of more than 81% over the same period last year; the area of organic certified crops reached 5,599 hectares, including special products such as cashews, melons, asparagus, mangoes, longans, dates, etc. This is an important step forward to affirm the brand of local agricultural products, as well as expanding the ability to penetrate high-end markets. In addition, sustainable, resource-saving and environmentally friendly production models such as "1 must, 5 reductions", water-saving irrigation, apple netting, safe vegetable production... continue to be replicated, helping to save costs, reduce emissions, protect the environment and increase farmers' income. In addition, the industry has strengthened the supervision of agricultural materials, granted food safety certificates to many establishments; at the same time, promoted propaganda, built safe growing areas... Thanks to that, agricultural products increasingly meet strict requirements on quality and traceability". These results have contributed to increasing farmers' income, creating motivation to attract businesses to invest in green agriculture, affirming the province's right direction in the process of modernizing the crop industry.
Decisive steps are needed
From the province's natural advantages, to build and develop green, circular agriculture towards improving productivity, quality, reducing emissions, increasing the value of agricultural products, meeting the strict requirements of the domestic and international markets, in the coming time, the provincial crop sector will continue to review and advise on issuing financial support mechanisms and green credit for farmers, businesses and cooperatives to invest in high technology and sustainable production processes. In particular, the Center for Research and Application of Green Agricultural Technology will be established soon, helping to connect science and technology with production practices. Along with that, the sector will continue to convert inefficient crops to high-value crops, replicate large-field models, build production-consumption linkage chains; expand the area of high-tech, organic production, encourage circular agricultural models, apply advanced science and technology; strengthen propaganda, guidance and inspection to meet domestic and international plant quarantine and food safety standards.

The industry will also develop experiential tourism (harvesting agricultural products, visiting farms), build an agricultural tourism brand associated with indigenous culture, enhance rural economic value; create green livelihoods for people through OCOP models associated with eco-tourism. At the same time, focus on raising awareness and skills for farmers through technical training and necessary tools to apply organic methods, promote coordination with businesses in the agricultural sector, research and international organizations to transfer technology, develop clean agricultural products associated with environmental protection.
