Over the past year, Manh Hung has made significant progress. That helped him be included in the list of players preparing for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. Notably, he is one of the five additions made by coach Hoang Anh Tuan after he took over the Vietnam U23 team.

But to win a place on the field in Qatar, Manh Hung must try harder because coach Hoang Anh Tuan has many good central defenders. Even after saying goodbye to Thanh Khai and Duc Anh, the U.23 Vietnam team still has Luong Duy Cuong, Le Nguyen Hoang, Tran Quang Thinh, and Nguyen Ngoc Thang.
