Construction of Xuong Giang bridge is about to start, removing bottlenecks on Hanoi - Bac Giang highway

Currently, the investor and construction units are preparing the site and assembling machinery to prepare to start construction of Xuong Giang bridge, on the Hanoi - Bac Giang highway, on February 24.

On February 21, information from the Railway Project Management Board ( Ministry of Transport ) said that contractors are actively preparing the site and assembling machinery to officially start construction of the Xuong Giang bridge on the Hanoi - Bac Giang highway.

This is a project within the project to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1, including: Xuong Giang Bridge, Bac Giang Province, Gianh Bridge, Quan Hau Bridge, Quang Binh Province and Deo Ngang Tunnel, Ha Tinh Province.

Currently, contractors have gathered machinery and prepared the site for the groundbreaking ceremony of Xuong Giang bridge on February 24.

It is known that Xuong Giang bridge across Thuong river on Hanoi - Bac Giang highway has the starting point at about Km117+440 in Le Loi ward, Bac Giang city; the ending point at about Km118+400 in Dong Son commune, Bac Giang city.

Xuong Giang Bridge is about 0.96 km long, of which the bridge is more than 300 m long, the rest is the approach road, including 4 lanes, roadbed width 33 m.

The bridge is newly built as a single unit suitable for the scale of the route, 16.5m wide; designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete.

The project is expected to be completed in 2025, helping to solve infrastructure bottlenecks, reduce congestion and traffic accidents on Xuong Giang Bridge; contributing to promoting trade, connectivity, and supporting socio-economic development in Bac Giang province and other provinces and cities in the region.
