By noon on September 30, the section of National Highway 70 towards Tay Mo overpass was still nearly 1 meter deep in water, causing a series of vehicles to be stuck. Implementing the "4 on-the-spot" motto, the Vietnam Coast Guard mobilized more than 30 officers and soldiers from the Guard Company, the Administration - Logistics Department, the General Staff, along with mobile vehicles to support, transport vehicles, and take people through the flooded area.

With the spirit of “proactively reaching out to the people, not waiting for them to be in trouble to seek the army”, the Coast Guard officers and soldiers helped hundreds of people and their vehicles through deep flooded areas. Many people expressed their emotion at the help of the officers and soldiers.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Tam (from Hung Yen ) said that while delivering goods by motorbike, he encountered a flooded area. Here, he waited for nearly an hour but the situation did not improve, the pouring rain made him worried that he would not be able to deliver the goods on time. After receiving enthusiastic help, he sent his thanks to the officers and soldiers of the Coast Guard. This is a beautiful memory of his with the army.

Coast Guard soldiers "brave the sun and rain" to help the people.

With all respect, Ms. Nguyen Thi Sinh (from Chuong My, Hanoi) shared that the image of officers and soldiers who did not mind the rain and wind, working hard, made her love Uncle Ho's soldiers even more. "I do business at the market in Minh Khai area, moving to Tay Mo overpass, the water was so deep that I could not move. But the soldiers were very enthusiastic and ready to support me, I was very happy. I hope you guys have good health to help the people," Ms. Sinh was moved.

The heavy rain stung their faces, their hands and feet were cold after many hours of being submerged in the water, but the Vietnamese Coast Guard soldiers still wholeheartedly helped the people. This was not only a duty but also an order in the hearts of the officers and soldiers, thereby making the flame of military-civilian love even warmer in each citizen.
