A landslide completely collapsed the welcome gate of Dong Van commune (Tuyen Quang). The incident did not cause any human casualties.

Information from Dong Van commune (Tuyen Quang province) said that on the morning of October 8, a serious landslide occurred right at the welcome gate, completely collapsing the welcome gate of Dong Van commune.

At the scene, a large amount of rock and soil from the slope collapsed, completely collapsing the welcome gate of Dong Van commune, causing temporary traffic disruption.

Fortunately, at the time of the landslide and gate collapse, there were no people passing by so there were no casualties.

Immediately after the incident, Dong Van commune authorities quickly mobilized militia, commune police and local people to urgently clean up the scene, move rocks and fallen trees, ensure traffic safety and limit the risk of further landslides.

At the same time, check and assess the extent of damage and develop an initial repair plan.

Dong Van Commune's welcome gate, inaugurated in November 2024, is 10.5m wide, 6.3m high, built from 740 stones, nearly 18.5m3 ^of wood and over 26,000 yin-yang tiles with a total cost of over 1.5 billion VND from socialized sources.

This is an architectural work, a cultural symbol of the people in the northernmost region of the country. At the same time, it is a famous check-in point for tourists when coming to Dong Van commune in particular and Dong Van stone plateau in general.
