From pineapple fields to premium materials

Statistics show that every year Vietnam discards about 3 million tons of pineapple leaves after harvest, most of which are burned, causing waste and environmental pollution.

Faslink saw an opportunity to “revive” these discarded materials into a new material. From there, PINALINA TM was born - a natural fabric extracted from pineapple leaf fiber, environmentally friendly and highly applicable.

With the advantage of being an agricultural country, this is an opportunity for Vietnam to take advantage of its own indigenous resources to transform itself from a "garment factory" into a pioneering country in creating sustainable materials.

PINALINATM's journey begins from the pineapple field, through the hands of farmers, to the hands of weavers, and is enhanced by a Vietnamese research team.

It is the intersection of agricultural quintessence and creative thinking, creating a material that is both sustainable and has a strong indigenous imprint.

In the context that the Vietnamese textile and garment industry still depends largely on imported materials (localization rate is only about 25-30%), the appearance of domestic materials such as PINALINATM is considered a positive signal, contributing to improving self-reliance and creating more local stories for Vietnamese products.

Ms. Tran Hoang Phu Xuan - CEO of Faslink - shared: "We believe that each shirt made from pineapple fiber is not just a product, but a part of history - where the story of Vietnamese farmers is told in a global language."

Faslink has officially registered the PINALINATM trademark and introduced this material at several international exhibitions such as Texworld USA 2025 and FAW Tokyo 2025.

Participation in global playgrounds shows the efforts of Vietnamese enterprises in bringing local materials to participate in the international green fashion trend.

However, the problem of the green fashion industry lies in the ability to apply widely. Faslink has invested heavily in R&D to develop fabric lines that are both environmentally friendly and meet the needs of the wearer: convenience, comfort and aesthetics.

PINALINATM was researched by Faslink to bring the necessary characteristics of an everyday shirt: breathable, deodorizing, durable and safe for the skin.

In particular, the fabric surface is rough and easy to dye, suitable for modern fashion designs while still retaining its characteristic natural beauty.

The brand has received an order of 8,000 uniforms from Coteccons - one of the largest construction enterprises in Vietnam.

This is the first time that shirts made from pandan leaf fibers have been mass produced, showing that green materials are starting to be chosen.

Not just an order, this is also the trust and companionship of a business with the same vision of sustainable development, adding motivation for green materials to have the opportunity to spread and find a place in the market.
