On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the General Staff's tradition day (September 7, 1945 - September 7, 2025), General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired a meeting with news agencies and press.

Speaking at the meeting, General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that after 80 years of building, fighting and growing, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army has 14 chiefs of the general staff and 64 deputy chiefs of the general staff.

Over the past time, receiving the attention of the Central leadership, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the help of all levels, sectors, localities and people, the General Staff has well performed its functions as a command and strategic advisory agency on military and national defense, comprehensively completing all aspects of work, and many tasks have been excellently completed.

In particular, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, together with units in the Ministry of National Defense, has developed resolutions, conclusions, strategies, and projects on military defense ; closely coordinated with central and local ministries, branches, and sectors to successfully organize a series of celebrations of major holidays in the recent past.

General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that to achieve this result, the press agencies have clearly propagated, contributing to promoting and enhancing the image of the army in general and the General Staff in particular, spreading the good qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people and international friends,...

General Nguyen Tan Cuong assessed that each parade and march needs innovation.

Therefore, the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 will have some differences from previous parades to demonstrate "the unity and strength of the Vietnamese people".

General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that there will be walking blocks, tank blocks, sky blocks, and underwater blocks. Especially the underwater parade block will have the presence of submarines and surface ships of the Navy, Coast Guard, Border Guard, etc.

Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan, Chief of Political Affairs , General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, said that recently the unit has advised the Party and State to successfully organize a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, etc.

The Party Committee and Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army always pay attention to leading and directing affiliated agencies and units to strictly implement directives and resolutions of the Party and State; circulars and instructions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense related to the management of press and publishing work.

Every year, there are over 1,200 press works published in the media about the activities of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and its affiliated agencies and units in newspapers and magazines.
