SHB and T&T Group auctioned a painting worth 1 billion VND to support flood victims

(Dan Tri) - Through participating in the auction to support flood victims, Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) and T&T Group continue to affirm the spirit of sharing, community responsibility and the tradition of "mutual love" of the Vietnamese people.

Auction program spreads love

With the spirit of "Connecting - sharing - spreading love", on the evening of October 11, within the framework of the "Heritage Footsteps" fashion show of the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, a charity auction took place to support people affected by the recent floods.

The auction program received contributions from 5 designers with 5 traditional costumes and a silk scarf product; along with 2 ceramic vases and paintings by artist Ngo Ba Hoang; and a pearl necklace from a jewelry brand.

The painting “Ancient rowing and kite flute sound on the golden field” by artist Ngo Ba Hoang was the highest-priced item in the program. This is a poetic work, depicting a peaceful scene of the Northern countryside. The painting has a starting price of 150 million VND, and was bought by SHB Bank and T&T Group for 1 billion VND.

“We believe that practical actions, no matter how small, will contribute to creating great strength to help our people overcome difficulties. SHB and T&T Group always accompany the community not only in financial activities, but also through sharing and social responsibility,” representatives of SHB Bank and T&T Group shared.

Along with the painting Ancient rowing and kite flute on the golden field , another work by artist Ngo Ba Hoang - the ceramic vase Mother and Child , crafted with new enamel and lacquer techniques, also received attention.

Finally, the ceramic vase "Mother and Child" was successfully auctioned by a sponsor at 555 million VND, demonstrating the spirit of sharing and spreading love, true to the message of the program.

At the end of the program, the total amount of money collected from the auction and the support of the audience and donors reached 2.5 billion VND. The entire amount raised will be transferred by the Organizing Committee to localities affected by floods, supporting the reconstruction of houses, schools and civil works.

The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi took place from October 10 to October 12 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center. As sponsors, SHB Bank and T&T Group accompanied this special event, contributing to honoring and spreading the quintessence of Vietnamese culture.

When happiness is sharing

During 32 years of development, SHB and T&T are not only two enterprises but also companions whenever the country and people need them.

Recently, faced with serious damage caused by storms and floods, SHB quickly took action, sending an emergency relief team to Thai Nguyen - one of the most severely affected localities.

Hundreds of essential gifts including medicine, food and household items were given directly to people in flooded areas, promptly sharing difficulties and providing motivation for people to overcome this challenging period.

SHB staff across the country are also joining hands to donate, sending their hearts and sharing to the people in the provinces who are struggling to bear the consequences of natural disasters. In the coming time, SHB will continue to have practical activities to support people in flood-affected areas to rebuild their lives and overcome difficulties soon.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, SHB implemented preferential credit packages, debt restructuring, and interest rate reductions for hundreds of thousands of customers, while organizing many charity activities, donating medical supplies and food, and standing side by side with the people.

In total, SHB, T&T Group and businesses in Mr. Do Quang Hien's ecosystem have contributed more than 1,500 billion VND to epidemic prevention work.

In the program "Warm home for my people", responding to the Prime Minister's call, SHB donated 100 billion VND to Soc Trang province (now Can Tho city), supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the area.
