At around 7am on February 22, the French superyacht Le Jacques Catier brought about 150 international guests from France, the UK, the US... to Duong Dong port (Duong Dong ward, Phu Quoc city) to have fun and explore the indigenous culture and customs of the islanders.

Mr. Bui Trung Dung - ship and yacht manager of Mekong Shipping Agency Company Limited - informed that Phu Quoc is a new market for cruise tourism for French tourists.

The super yacht carries about 150 high-class international guests from France, England and America. Tourists love Vietnam's sea and islands, especially Phu Quoc.

In Phu Quoc, tourists will have a schedule to visit Ho Quoc Pagoda, Phu Quoc Prison and especially experience, visit, learn about the customs and rustic lifestyle of people in Ham Ninh fishing village - a fishing village that is hundreds of years old, or go out to sea to exploit and enjoy marine products.

Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that in 2023, there will be about 21,485 French visitors to Phu Quoc.

Mr. Huynh Quang Hung - Chairman of Phu Quoc City People's Committee - informed that recently Phu Quoc has continuously welcomed cruise ships bringing international visitors to visit the island. The locality has high expectations for this "explosion" of cruise and yacht tourism in the near future.

"Phu Quoc will focus on improving security and order, environmental sanitation and encourage tourism businesses to continuously improve product quality, develop new, unique and diverse tourism products to serve tourists," said Mr. Hung.

Previously, from February 2 to 9, the 5-star cruise ship Costa Serena and the Aida Bella (both Italian) brought nearly 3,500 German, Thai, American, Chinese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese tourists to Phu Quoc to enjoy the 2024 Lunar New Year.
