Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kieu Phu Commune, Phung Huy Dien:
More pride in the heroic capital

The 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day is a sacred occasion for every cadre, party member and citizen of Hanoi, including the people of Kieu Phu commune, to look back on the glorious journey of the nation and the Capital. This is not only the day the Capital was completely liberated, but also a symbol of the indomitable will, the aspiration for peace , freedom and happiness - something that many generations of Hanoians have and are continuing to preserve.

Throughout the journey of building and defending the country, every citizen of the Capital, especially our generation today, carries in their hearts a deep pride. This is the driving force that urges us to be determined to live, work, and contribute to building our homeland to develop more and more.

Realizing that responsibility, right after Hanoi officially put into operation the 2-level local government model, despite facing many difficulties, the Party Committee, the government and the political system of Kieu Phu commune quickly took action in a synchronous and drastic manner. The commune-level government apparatus was consolidated and operated effectively, gradually creating positive changes, contributing to breathing new life into the rural appearance of the capital.

However, in order for Kieu Phu in particular and the rural areas of Hanoi in general to truly become livable, rich, civilized and modern places, accompanying the strong and prosperous development of the Capital, we determined that we need to continue to innovate our thinking, boldly propose breakthrough solutions, and maximize the potential and unique strengths of the locality.

Dr. Tran Trung Kien, Head of Orthopedic Trauma Department (Duc Giang General Hospital):
The city is firmly on the path of transformation

Every October, Hanoi has a very different beauty, profound, proud and full of emotions. As a child born, raised and working in the capital, I clearly feel the heartbeat of a city that has suffered much pain but has never stopped rising.

From a city still bearing the marks of war, Hanoi today has transformed into a modern, dynamic urban area but still preserves the elegant, quiet character of the ancient land of Thang Long.

I have witnessed each street being widened, the traffic infrastructure being improved with new routes, along with the strong development of urban areas, green parks and modern public works. In particular, Duc Giang General Hospital, where I am working, is also being increasingly invested in and upgraded, better meeting the health care needs of the people of the capital and the whole country.

As an orthopedic specialist, every day I witness miraculous recoveries, bodies that seemed hopeless still resiliently regenerate. In each of these patients, I see glimpses of a resilient, steadfast Hanoi. Despite going through many difficulties and challenges, especially after the war, when peace was just restored, Hanoi remained steadfast in its desire to constantly rise up.

I love Hanoi not only because this is where I was born, but also because this place gives me the belief that all wounds can be healed, if we unite. And I believe, with the courage, intelligence and heart of Hanoians, the Capital will go further, worthy of being the heart of the whole country, the pride of many generations.

Secretary of Party Cell of Residential Group No. 7 (Long Bien Ward) Dinh Van Tong:
Contribute to building the Capital worthy of the title "City for Peace"

October 10, 1954 is a brilliant milestone in the history of Hanoi Capital - the day the Capital was completely liberated, opening an era of independence, peace and development. 71 years have passed, the spirit of Capital Liberation Day has always been a great source of motivation, urging every cadre, party member and citizen to constantly strive to build Hanoi to be more and more prosperous, civilized and modern.

As a cadre working at the grassroots level, I clearly feel the strong transformation of the Capital, from technical infrastructure, transportation, environment to cultural and social life. Hanoi today is not only the political and administrative center of the whole country, but also a dynamic, creative city, with a strong identity and aspirations to reach out.

Long Bien Ward always clearly identifies its role as an inseparable part in the overall development of the Capital. Therefore, the Party Cell of Residential Group No. 7 always focuses on innovating leadership methods, promoting the spirit of democracy, being close to the people, building a strong political system, contributing to bringing the Party's resolutions into life in a practical and effective way.

On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital, with all our pride and sense of responsibility, we pledge to continue to contribute our intelligence and strength, together with the people, to build the Capital Hanoi to become increasingly comprehensive, civilized, modern, worthy of the trust and love of our compatriots nationwide, international friends and worthy of the title "City for Peace".

Poet Dang Thien Son, Head of the Hanoi Young Literature Club (under the Young Writers Board - Hanoi Writers Association):
Hanoi has become a cultural and creative center.

As a resident of the capital, I am very proud of the city's transformation over the years. The most impressive thing is that the city's transportation has developed strongly, especially public transportation. Now I can choose from many types of public transportation to travel, very convenient.

I am particularly interested in the investments in the city's culture, history, and creative industries and am very pleased to see that Hanoi has many new museums being built, relic spaces being renewed, entertainment areas being invested in, creative spaces being organized, and craft village tourism developing...

These are achievements that recognize Hanoi's efforts over the years to become a creative city of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in the field of design. But for the capital to develop sustainably, to truly be the cultural, administrative and economic center of the whole country, I think the city needs to focus more on investing in the application of digital technology in all fields, including the fields of culture, arts in general and young literature in particular.

In recent years, facing the strong changes of the country, the Young Writers Committee - Hanoi Writers Association and especially the Hanoi Young Literature Club have constantly searched, discovered and nurtured young authors. However, partly due to the emergence of multimedia audiovisual forms, literary and artistic activities have been somewhat "inferior", young people no longer pay much attention to literature, causing the capital's young literary activities to be somewhat quiet.

In the coming time, I hope the city will pay attention to supporting the organization of youth literature competitions, thereby attracting the participation of new writers, spreading the love of literature to today's youth, contributing to the development of culture and arts of the capital.

Head of Doai village (Thien Loc commune) Nguyen Duc Thong:
Great pride and encouragement

duc-thong.jpg

October 10, 1954 was a glorious milestone in the history of the nation when the capital Hanoi was completely liberated, turning a new page of independence and freedom. For our generation, the great event of the capital is not only a source of pride, but also a great source of encouragement to continue to preserve and build our homeland to become more and more beautiful.

I was born after Hanoi was liberated, but through the stories of my fathers and grandfathers, I still feel the jubilant and emotional atmosphere of the victorious army entering to take over the capital. Since then, Hanoi has changed a lot, from small, narrow streets, the city in general and my hometown Thien Loc in particular now have wide open roads and modern bridges. From a city still full of difficulties, Hanoi has now become the economic, cultural and political center of the whole country, increasingly more spacious and civilized. As a citizen of the capital, I am proud of that change and am more aware of my responsibility in preserving traditions and building a civilized urban lifestyle.

We, the collective cadres of Doai village, always remind each other that October 10 is not only a historical memory, but also a motivation for today's generation to continue to unite, promote community strength, and build our homeland Thien Loc worthy of its position as a thousand-year-old cultural capital.

As a village chief, I am determined to work with the local Party Committee and government to promote revolutionary traditions, arouse the spirit of solidarity among the people, mobilize people to comply with policies and guidelines, and join hands to build our homeland more and more civilized and modern. The pride of the Capital Liberation Day today will motivate us to continue our efforts and contribute to building a rich and beautiful Hanoi, worthy of its position as the capital of a thousand years of culture.
