Re-enacting the 'Red Ceramic Kingdom' at Vinh Long tourism festival

The 3rd Vinh Long Provincial Tourism Festival 2023 was held from December 23 to 25 in Vinh Long City with the theme "Vinh Long - Southern Rendezvous". This is an event responding to the 2023 Binh Thuan National Tourism Year and continuing to respond to the tourism stimulus and recovery program. Here, it attracts many tourists, especially the red ceramic park recreating the once famous "Red Ceramic Kingdom" along Thay Cai Canal.

Ms. Doan Thi Ngoc Diep, President of Vinh Long Ceramic and Fine Arts Association, said that she was assigned by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long to build a park recreating the "Kingdom of Red Ceramics". Within just 3 days, she and the members coordinated with artist Mai Nam (HCMC), sketched and completed the project to meet the schedule. This project is located in Ward 9 (Vinh Long City). After the tourism festival, it will be kept for people to visit until the end of the Lunar New Year 2024.

The park was not handed over to the organizers until this afternoon, December 23, but in the morning many people came to see it.

Boats carrying bricks and pottery are also recreated.

There are more than 900 red ceramic products on display here.

Artist Mai Nam, the designer of "Kingdom of Ceramic Bricks", said that due to the tight time frame, from planning to handover in just 3 days, the work was very difficult. "The brothers tried to complete the work from design to construction in a way that had a theme, highlights, and realistically recreated the river, representing Thay Cai canal, the ceramic kilns representing the contemporary cultural heritage of Mang Thit...", artist Mai Nam said.

Ms. Phan Ngoc Thien Kim brought her pet to check-in at the ceramic park.

The tourism festival coincided with the weekend, so there were many tourists coming to visit and take pictures. Ms. Phan Ngoc Thien Kim (27 years old, living in Da Lat city, Lam Dong ) came to Vinh Long for tourism and said that this was the first time she saw so many red ceramics, she was very happy to be able to capture this rare beautiful moment.

According to Mr. Phan Van Giau, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vinh Long, this Vinh Long Provincial Tourism Festival will bring visitors interesting experiences about the image of the homeland and people of Vinh Long, full of love for the land and people, no less dynamic, creative, connected, integrated for development...

The festival also includes main activities such as: Hot air balloon performance at the opening ceremony; exhibition, promotion, introduction of tourism, craft village products, typical products; flyboard performance combined with canoe surfing, sampan racing; culinary contest and exhibition, promotion of Binh Tan sweet potatoes; water music art program and fashion show; festival of music groups, dance groups and dance groups of Vinh Long province in 2023.
