Vice Principal temporarily suspended after 40 students got food poisoning in Quang Tri

On the morning of October 2, the leader of the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, Quang Tri province, announced that he had just decided to temporarily suspend Ms. D.THH, Vice Principal in charge of boarding at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, for 15 days.

According to local leaders, the reason for temporarily suspending Ms. H. from work is because of issues that have caused public outrage, with parents of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School.

In particular, the food poisoning incident that occurred on September 26th resulted in 40 students being hospitalized. This resulted in 75 students not attending class due to parents’ objections.

Ms. H.'s temporary suspension is aimed at stabilizing the immediate situation so that students can return to school.

"Regarding other related issues, we are waiting for official conclusions from the authorities to have a basis for handling," informed the leader of Kim Ngan commune.

This morning, parents of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School brought all students back to school to stabilize their studies.

Leaders of the Department of Education and Training and local government representatives met with parents to clarify the reasons and find a solution after 75 students did not go to school.

As reported by GD&TĐ Newspaper, at around 8:00 a.m. on September 26, many students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities showed symptoms of nausea and stomachache after eating breakfast at school.

Kim Thuy commune authorities coordinated with teachers and parents to quickly take students to the hospital.

Of the 75 students showing symptoms of poisoning, 40 had to be hospitalized, while the remaining 35 were monitored locally.

Regarding the incident, public opinion in Quang Tri was stirred up by the news that Ms. D.THH, Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, prevented students from being taken to the hospital when they showed unusual symptoms.

The incident became even more controversial when a clip filmed at the school's medical room went viral on social media.

After the poisoning incident, parents of 75 boarding students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School did not send their children to class.

Regarding this incident, on the afternoon of October 1, leaders of the Department of Education and Training and local authorities met with parents to clarify the reason and find a solution.

At the meeting with the leaders of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri, the Kim Thuy commune government and the Board of Directors of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, the parents requested the school to change the food supplier, replace the catering staff and resolutely request the suspension of Ms. D.THH.

Dr. Le Thi Huong - Director of the Department of Education and Training requested that Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School review all stages of boarding work, from personnel, kitchen procedures, raw material sources to processing stages... At the same time, strictly handle violations (if any) after receiving conclusions from the authorities.
