Strengthen post-inspection to ensure food safety in the province

On September 25, the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety (FSS) of Vinh Long province held a meeting to evaluate the work of the first 9 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last months of 2025. Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on FHS of the province chaired the meeting.

On September 25, the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety (FSS) of Vinh Long province held a meeting to evaluate the work of the first 9 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last months of 2025. Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on FHS of the province chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Health to supplement and complete the report, directions and tasks of each department and branch in coordination work; advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue documents on clear decentralization and delegation of authority in directing food safety at the grassroots level. The branches need to focus on post-inspection and surprise inspections to promptly detect and handle violations.

In particular, it is important to strengthen food safety control in collective kitchens in schools and industrial parks; promote propaganda and raise awareness among organizations and individuals producing and trading food, while equipping people with knowledge to protect their own health and that of their families.

Over the past 9 months, food safety inspection and supervision in the province has been proactively and promptly implemented, meeting management requirements. The whole province has inspected 34 food businesses, coordinated supervision at production facilities, food services, collective kitchens, moon cake production facilities...

From now until the end of 2025, the Interdisciplinary Steering Committee will continue to promote communication, strengthen interdisciplinary inspections, especially control food safety in collective kitchens and catering services during peak periods, festivals and events in the province.
