A production stage at the factory

Established in 2015, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV with Nhan Co Aluminum Production Factory located in Nhan Co commune is one of two pilot projects in the industry of mining and processing bauxite ore to produce aluminum, moving towards aluminum production, invested by Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV). Currently, there are 1,030 officers and employees working here.

When the company was established, aluminum production was a very new industry in Vietnam. To master the technology, over the years, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV has focused on core factors: researching and applying advanced technology (Bayer technology), optimizing production processes, reducing consumption of raw materials and improving product quality. At the same time, the company focuses on training and fostering high-quality human resources. The unit regularly sends staff to learn from partners, creating conditions for engineers and experts to research and work in a professional environment.

In addition, the company focuses on optimizing operations and automating production lines, while researching and applying new technologies and materials. Combining innovative solutions with effective technology management helps increase product recovery rates, reduce shipping volume, and save electricity and key raw materials such as coal, caustic soda, lime, flocculants, filter cloth, grinding balls, etc.

According to Mr. Nhuong, the company actively promotes initiatives and technical improvements. A series of innovative ideas have been deployed and applied to practice in renovating and adding nozzles at the thermal power plant, helping to save hundreds of millions of VND each year. Or the application of the initiative "Agitator shaft steam shield" at the crystallization plant has improved working conditions and reduced maintenance costs. The company also develops supporting industries, independently producing caustic soda to supply raw materials for TKV's alumina plants in Lam Dong .

Environmental restoration

Because the ore bodies in the mining areas are mainly located on the slopes and hilltops, with an average cover thickness of 1.37 - 2 m, the company has applied the method of rolling mining combined with environmental improvement and restoration. The stripped soil layer in the next mining area will be poured into the exploited space to restore the land, returning the original terrain. When mining ends, the mine surface is covered with a layer of colored soil about 1 - 2 m thick, creating a terrain similar to the original but lower due to the 3 - 4 m thick ore mining. Acacia trees are used to cover the bare land, improve the land, prevent dust, limit erosion due to rainwater and restore the ecological environment. Up to now, the company has done a good job of mine restoration. Of the total mining area of 507.25 ha, 445.85 ha have been restored, of which 207.3 ha have been planted with trees to restore the environment.

Over the past 10 years, Dak Nong Aluminum Company - TKV has always achieved annual growth with total revenue of 27,777 billion VND; profit of 1,150 billion VND; local budget contribution of 3,804 billion VND and social security support of over 152 billion VND. The company's goal in the coming time is to reach 1.4 - 2.8 million tons/year, striving to produce aluminum by 2030.
