Strengthening cooperation between provinces and cities in Central Vietnam and Chinese localities

On the evening of September 23, the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang held a ceremony to celebrate the 76th anniversary of China's National Day (October 1, 1949 - October 1, 2025) with the participation of representatives of central ministries and branches; leaders of localities in the Central region and Chinese enterprises and associations in Da Nang city.

According to Acting Consul General of China in Da Nang Duong Thuan Phong, in April this year, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping paid a State visit to Vietnam, together with General Secretary To Lam completing a one-year mutual visit. This fully demonstrated the strategic nature and height of the China-Vietnam relationship. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, cooperation between the two sides in all fields has been continuously deepened.

In the coming time, the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang is ready to work with the provinces and cities in the consular area to aim for the "6 more" goal (Higher political trust, More substantive defense and security cooperation, Deeper substantive cooperation, More solid social foundation, Closer multilateral coordination and Better control and resolution of disagreements), to promote cooperation and exchanges between the two countries in all fields, contributing to building a China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future of strategic significance. He was also pleased to see that the provinces and cities in Central Vietnam have successfully implemented many major reforms such as streamlining the apparatus, merging provinces and cities; congratulated Da Nang city on being approved to build a free trade zone and international financial center, and Hue city on being approved to become a centrally-run city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh congratulated China on its achievements in recent years. He also said that in the context of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries has developed strongly and deeply. Da Nang City is proud to have actively contributed to fostering the friendship between the two countries, through many practical cooperation activities with Chinese localities. In recent times, many high-ranking delegations from Chinese provinces and cities have visited and explored cooperation opportunities in Da Nang. At the same time, the city has also implemented many exchange programs for trade cooperation, investment promotion in tourism, culture and education with the other side. These results have contributed to strengthening friendship, enhancing mutual understanding and bringing practical results to both sides. The city is also maintaining and expanding friendly cooperative relations with Chinese localities such as Yunnan, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Shandong...

On this occasion, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee also respectfully acknowledged and highly appreciated the important bridging role of the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang in promoting cooperative relations between the city and local Chinese partners. He believed that the Consulate General would continue to promote this role, contributing to further strengthening the connection and effective cooperation with the localities of Central Vietnam with Chinese localities and partners.

2025 is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam and is also the "Year of Humanitarian Exchange" between the two countries. More than 3.1 million Chinese tourists visited Vietnam, accounting for 25.5% of total international visitors, ranking first. Exchanges between provinces and cities in central Vietnam and Chinese localities such as Shandong, Fujian, Shaanxi, Guangxi, Yunnan... are increasingly vibrant, the two sides have achieved many results and cooperation agreements in the fields of economy - trade, friendship city relations and cultural exchange.
