In the current context, improving the quality of primary health care is becoming a priority task so that people across the city can access health services in a timely, convenient and safe manner.

Currently, the Da Nang Department of Health has developed a project to reorganize the regional health centers under the department. Previously, the health organization system was managed vertically, then transferred to the district level and now the health centers are assigned to the department for management. The representative of the Department of Health said that this is to improve the efficiency of health management.

According to the decision of the City People's Committee, district-level health stations and health centers are reorganized to form a regional health center model. This is a step to overcome the situation of resource dispersion and shortage of specialists, while improving the quality of primary health care for the people.

The city currently has 25 regional health centers under its management with two main functions: medical examination and treatment and preventive medicine. For health stations, conditions will be created for the health center to manage professional expertise, mobilize human resources in emergency situations, and better serve the work of primary health examination and treatment and preventive medicine.

Mr. Mai Van Muoi - Deputy Director of the Department of Health said that the current tasks of regional health centers, in addition to providing professional and technical services in preventive medicine and medical examination and treatment, also perform other health services according to the provisions of law. Most health centers have mastered many new technical services in health care, treatment of complex wounds... for local people.

Mr. Zơrâm Bảo - Director of Tay Giang Regional Medical Center said that in recent years, medical examination and treatment activities have always been improved, especially the investment in modern medical equipment. This is the result of the attention of all levels, especially since being connected to become a satellite hospital of Da Nang Hospital, many difficult techniques have been deployed, bringing convenient treatment opportunities, saving costs for people.

Currently, the commune health stations in the old Tay Giang district have oxygen ventilators, gastric lavage systems, nebulizers and first aid equipment. Meanwhile, at the Tay Giang Regional Health Center, modern medical equipment such as digital X-ray, esophagogastroduodenal endoscopy; electrolyte meter, automatic blood cell analyzer... have been invested.

Duy Xuyen Regional Medical Center

In the delta region, Duy Xuyen Regional Medical Center has become a bright spot in grassroots healthcare. Mr. Tran Do Nhan - Director of Duy Xuyen Regional Medical Center said that the unit currently has 345 hospital beds with 4 functional rooms and 9 specialized departments. Currently, the unit also provides professional support to commune health stations. Duy Xuyen Regional Medical Center has 2 main functions: treatment and prevention, taking care of healthcare for people in the northern Thu Bon area.

In 2025, the Da Nang health sector will officially enter the restructuring phase of the primary health care system. If previously each locality operated a separate health center, operating separately, now the consolidation by region allows for the concentration of human resources, equipment, and especially unified management. This change is expected to bring efficiency in primary health care for people, while reducing pressure on the final level.
