The 2025 crop season is considered one of the most difficult in recent years. The North has been hit by three major storms - Ragasa, Bualoi and Matmo... which have severely affected rice production. In many localities, prolonged heavy rains during the flowering and ripening stages have caused thousands of hectares of rice to fall, break stems, and seriously reduce productivity. However, at ThaiBinh Seed's rice variety demonstration models - especially at the Group's Crop Research Institute in Hung Yen, the situation is much more positive.

Despite being affected by similar weather conditions, ThaiBinh Seed rice varieties still grow well, stand firm, flower evenly, have a high percentage of solid grains, and are free of pests and diseases. This is a clear demonstration of the outstanding resistance and stability of the varieties that have been carefully selected and tested in practice through many different seasons and ecological zones.

Not only demonstrating weather resistance, varieties such as TBR97, TBR225, TBR39, BC15-09... are also highly appreciated for their productivity, rice quality and farming efficiency. Among them, TBR97 rice variety has become the priority choice of many localities thanks to its short-term characteristics, strong plants, good resistance to pests and diseases, stable yield and quality of clear white rice, soft rice, suitable for market tastes.

Currently, ThaiBinh Seed's rice varieties are available in most of the key rice-growing provinces in the Red River Delta, North Central and part of South Central. The Group has also been closely coordinating with the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Seed Centers, Agricultural Extension Centers of provinces such as Thai Binh, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh... to conduct field trials, replicate the model and organize field workshops and technical training for farmers.

One of the special features of ThaiBinh Seed's approach is its commitment to providing seeds from legitimate sources, produced according to a three-level process (original - certified - commercial), with strict inspection of purity, germination and seed quality. Thanks to that, the seeds that reach farmers are guaranteed to be highly stable, without adulteration, without fake or imitation seeds - a problem that is causing a lot of damage in agricultural production today.

Actual results from the models show that the rice yield of the varieties provided by ThaiBinh Seed all reach 65-78 tons/ha, even exceeding 8 tons/ha in some good intensive farming areas. Compared to the old varieties, the yield increase is from 10-20%, while the seed cost is reduced thanks to lower sowing volume, simple cultivation techniques, easy to apply on a large scale.

Not stopping at seed production, ThaiBinh Seed is gradually perfecting the rice value chain in a modern and sustainable direction. The Group is implementing the construction of a modern rice processing factory in Hung Yen province, associated with planning high-quality raw material areas, tracing the origin and building a brand for rice grown in the region. This is a strategic step to increase the value of rice grains, bringing Vietnamese agricultural products deeper into the global value chain.
