A Morning Consult poll of more than 11,000 registered voters found Vice President Harris up 4 percentage points over former President Trump (48% to 44%). The latest numbers show Harris improving by 1 percentage point from last week's poll.
Ms. Harris has not trailed Mr. Trump in any daily tracking survey since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in late July.

Ms. Harris's vice presidential running mate, Tim Walz, has a similar approval rating to Mr. Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance, at 39%. However, Mr. Vance's disapproval rating is higher, at 41% compared to Mr. Walz's 36%.
The Morning Consult poll was conducted August 16-18 among 11,501 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage point.
Meanwhile, FiveThirtyEight's average of national polls, which includes Morning Consult's poll, shows Ms. Harris leading by just under 3 percentage points (46.7% to 43.8%).
