Not playing with the strongest lineup, but U21 women's Vietnam still won

Being sure of a place in the round of 16 helped the coaching staff of the Vietnam U21 women's team use team B, in which captain Dang Thi Hong and Phuong Quynh were not registered to compete.

Despite playing with a team lacking key players, U21 Vietnam still played extremely enthusiastically, winning 25-17 in set 1.

In set 2, although at times they were behind 16-21, the Vietnam U21 women's team unexpectedly played well, scoring 9 consecutive points to win 25-21.

In set 3, the U21 women's team of Vietnam continued to let their opponents take the lead. Despite their efforts, at the end, the attackers were closely followed and made a mistake in the first step, causing the team to regrettably lose 23-25.

In the fourth set, U21 women's Vietnam was the team that continuously led, U21 women's Puerto Rico could not create a surprise against the defense of U21 women's Vietnam, thereby U21 women's Vietnam won 25-22.

Winning 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 23-25, 25-22), the Vietnam U21 women's team had their fourth victory at the tournament after doing the same against Indonesia, Serbia and Canada (besides the 1-3 loss to Argentina).

This result helped coach Nguyen Trong Linh and his team finish the group stage with 12 points after 4 wins and 1 loss, ranking second after Argentina and winning the right to enter the round of 16 strongest teams.

According to the round of 16, U21 Vietnam (second place in group A) will meet the third place team in group C (most likely the Czech Republic or Türkiye), taking place at 10:00 am tomorrow morning, August 13.
