Thanh Hoa: Will sign contracts with 3,840 teachers before July 1

Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council has decided to sign contracts with 3,840 teachers under Decree 111 for a period of 12 months. The signing of the contracts will be completed before the new two-level government comes into operation (July 1).

On June 24, at the 30th session, the 18th Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council passed 16 resolutions in the fields of economy - budget; planning - investment, finance; apparatus organization and culture - society.

Among the 16 resolutions above, there is a resolution on assigning targets for signing labor contracts to work as teachers according to Decree 111/2022/ND-CP dated December 30, 2022 (regulations on contracts for some types of jobs in administrative agencies and public service units), school year 2025 - 2026.

This is an incident that has attracted the attention of 3,840 teachers (school year 2024 - 2025) in Thanh Hoa province in the past time, when they were worried about whether they could continue to sign the contract, and whether the contract period is 12 months or 9 months/year.

At this meeting, after discussion and consideration, the People's Council of Thanh Hoa province decided to assign the target of signing teacher contracts according to Decree 111 for the 2025 - 2026 school year to 3,840 people, with a contract period of 1 year (from June 1, 2025 - May 31, 2026).

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tran Quoc Huy, Director of the Thanh Hoa Department of Home Affairs, said that after the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council issued a resolution, the Provincial People's Committee will immediately assign specific spending to each district-level unit and each school to organize the signing of contracts with teachers before the two-level government comes into operation (before July 1).

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, thousands of contract teachers under Decree 111 in Thanh Hoa were owed many months of salary (now paid) and had their contract period shortened from 12 months (1 year) to 9 months, causing teachers to be confused and worried because during the time without a contract, they would not know what to do to earn money to cover their living expenses.
