Jung Il Woo is a familiar face to Vietnamese audiences through the hit series High Kick Through the Roof , The Moon Embracing the Sun... Recently, he continued to cause a stir when appearing in the film Mang Me Di Bo - a cooperation project between Vietnam and Korea.

On the occasion of his visit to Vietnam to promote the film, Jung Il Woo met and had dinner with Choi Jongrak - a Korean content creator living in Ho Chi Minh City.

Here, Jung Il Woo was invited by Choi Jongrak to enjoy a traditional Vietnamese meal, starting with sour fish soup - Jongrak's favorite dish during his 8 years living here.

Not only conquering foreigners, Vietnamese sour fish soup was also honored by international culinary website Taste Atlas in the top 100 best fish dishes in the world, surpassing many other famous dishes.

Regarding canh chua, the site describes: "Characterized by a combination of sweet, spicy, and sour flavors, it is typically cooked in a tamarind broth and often includes pineapple, tomatoes, okra, bean sprouts, or other vegetables."

As soon as he tasted the first spoonful, Jung Il Woo exclaimed, "It's delicious, the sour taste is very special."

He was surprised to see that the dish included tomatoes and pineapple, which was quite different from the Korean way of cooking fish soup. The meal also included stir-fried morning glory with garlic, fried tofu with onions, and braised pork and eggs, all of which he commented were very suitable for Korean tastes.

In a conversation with Jongrak, the actor said he had been to Vietnam three times. In particular, his 10-day trip in April 2024 took him to Hanoi , Sa Pa, Da Nang, Hoi An and Cu Lao Cham.

"I like Cu Lao Cham the most, a place with peaceful space and clean sea water," he shared.

Following Jung Il Woo's Vietnam travel journey, it's not hard to see that the actor loves and spends a lot of time exploring Vietnamese cuisine. He has many compliments for pho, banh mi, chicken salad, coffee...

Every time he eats a new dish, Jung Il Woo expresses his excitement and says it "exceeds his expectations."

The actor was also delighted when the chicken salad restaurant staff guided him to make his own dipping sauce with salt, pepper, lemon and chili. Because he loved the taste of dipping sauce in Vietnam, Jung Il Woo and his companion even went to many stores and food markets to buy spices to make the sauce and bring it back to Korea.

"One of the things I love most about Vietnam is that the food is delicious, the people are so kind and each city has its own character, giving me different vibes.

That's why, after experiencing it, I became even more curious about this country. Next time, I will probably stay in Vietnam for a month," the actor shared during this trip.

Jung Il Woo was born in 1987, is a Korean male model and actor, known for the films High Kick Through the Roof, My Butler , Moon Embracing the Sun, Cinderella and the Four Knights, The Imperial Guard's Diary...

The actor received much love from Vietnamese fans in particular and international fans in general thanks to his handsome appearance, "clean" private life, and no scandals.

However, in recent years, Jung Il Woo has rarely appeared in movies or entertainment programs.
