GD&TĐ - On October 23, Permanent Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong inspected the implementation of school year tasks and flood and storm recovery work in Lang Son.

Receiving and working with the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training were representatives of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, local departments and branches, and the Department of Education and Training of Lang Son.

Regarding the implementation of the school year's tasks, Lang Son education sector has prepared facilities and teaching equipment to ensure conditions for program implementation; implemented 2-session teaching/day at educational institutions throughout the province to improve the quality of comprehensive education, meeting the goals of the 2018 General Education Program; ensured staff in the conditions of 2-level local government; implemented professional tasks at all levels.

Regarding the work of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods, the Lang Son education sector has effectively deployed urgent measures to prevent and control floods, focusing on reviewing deeply flooded areas and areas at risk of landslides to proactively relocate and evacuate students and facilities from dangerous areas.

Ms. Tran Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee spoke at the program.

Up to now, 52 damaged educational institutions have basically met the minimum requirements to welcome students back to normal study; proactively adjusted teaching plans, increased the organization of make-up classes, flexibly used online or combined teaching methods, ensuring that students' studies were not interrupted, especially for final grades.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Tuan, Director of Lang Son Department of Education and Training, reported on the school year and the situation of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

Permanent Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong requested the Lang Son education sector to pay attention, direct, and coordinate to properly resolve related issues in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the local practical conditions, especially the recruitment, use, appointment, and transfer of teachers and staff in the context of two-level local government.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Lang Son education sector needs to focus on improving the qualifications and thinking capacity of the education management staff to proactively innovate, be flexible and creative in management and administration; continue to advise and propose to management levels to solve existing problems in practice and have effective solutions.

Ms. Tran Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee, sincerely thanked the Ministry of Education and Training for its attention and support to the locality; at the same time, directed the Department of Education and Training to advise on and propose solutions to related issues, promptly deploy and effectively allocate the received support to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

At the program, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded 200 million VND to support the education sector in Lang Son to overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Also in the program, Lang Son education sector received a total support of more than 4 billion VND from the following units: Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training; Vietnam Education Publishing House; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Ho Chi Minh City Banking University; EGM Education Group; Atlantic Education Group; Hong Ha Stationery Joint Stock Company; ISMART Education Joint Stock Company; Binh Minh Company.
