Take measures to prevent heat and water shortages

Officials from the Provincial Center for Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation inspected the domestic water supply project in Nhu Han commune (Yen Son).

Accordingly, relevant departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities closely monitor developments and forecasts on weather, meteorology, hydrology, and water resources; inventory and grasp information on water resources in the area to update plans and strategies for preventing and combating heat waves, droughts, and water shortages in the locality in accordance with water resource scenarios; propagate and guide people to proactively have flexible forms of water storage, use water economically and effectively, and thoroughly prevent loss and waste of water resources.

Comply with the direction and guidance of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and relevant departments and branches to promptly and effectively implement solutions to prevent and combat heat, drought and water shortages. In case of water shortage, it is not possible to ensure sufficient supply for use needs, priority must be given to providing enough water for daily life, irrigation of perennial plants of high economic value and other essential needs.

At the same time, effectively operate irrigation systems and works to get water, proactively store water to ensure meeting the minimum water demand for irrigation of crops when there is a water shortage, limiting damage to production and business, especially agricultural production.
