Analyzing this phenomenon, Mr. Le Dinh Quyet, Southern Hydrometeorological Station, said that the heat of the past few days was due to the low pressure in the West expanding to the Southeast, the high pressure in the West Pacific Ocean covering the Southern region, these weather systems make the Southwest wind not strong, evaporation is limited, there are few clouds, and a lot of sunshine. Every year, in the Southern provinces, there are still some periods of reduced rain during the rainy season, usually in July and August. Each period lasts 5-7 days, sometimes up to 10 days, popularly known as the drought of the witch. Therefore, this period of reduced rain and heat in the South is not unusual.
Mr. Le Dinh Quyet warned that the drought caused water shortages for production and agriculture , but did not cause much harm to health. However, little rain, strong sunshine, high air temperature, in some places reaching over 35 degrees Celsius, can easily cause heat shock, sunstroke, and high UV radiation also has a negative impact on health.
According to the forecast of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, on August 5, the weather in Ho Chi Minh City will be cloudy, hot during the day, with thunderstorms in some places in the evening, increasing daytime temperatures, with little change at night. The highest temperature is 32.6-35.7 degrees Celsius; the lowest is 25-28 degrees Celsius. Temperature at Tan Son Nhat: highest is 37 degrees Celsius, lowest is 28 degrees Celsius, highest humidity is 94%, common southwest wind is 4-6m/s.
