On July 12, speaking with reporters, Ms. Phuong My, owner of a gold shop, said that the woman who won 5 lottery tickets was named T. (in Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province). Ms. T. won 5 jackpot tickets from the Kien Giang Province Lottery Company, with the number 676636 drawn on July 9.

After winning, Ms. T. brought 5 lottery tickets to HM gold shop, exchanged them for 9 billion VND (after tax), then bought gold at this shop.

The image of Ms. T. winning 5 jackpot lottery tickets, then buying gold for 2.4 billion VND was spread on social networks.

“ Mrs. T. is a long-time customer here. After winning the lottery, Ms. T. came to the store to exchange her old gold and buy new gold, spending a total of 2.4 billion VND. She said she bought gold for herself and her family. With the remaining money, Ms. T. said she would buy land ,” Ms. My shared.

5 lottery tickets won the special prize of Kien Giang Province Lottery Company.

Ms. My added that she shared on social media the image of the customer who won the lottery and came to buy gold to preserve the memorable moment with the store. She was very surprised because many people shared, commented, congratulated and "wished" the lottery winner good luck.

Speaking with Tien Phong reporter, Mr. Lam Minh Dao - General Director of Kien Giang Province Lottery Company Limited confirmed that, after checking, the 5 lottery tickets posted on social networks with the image of the gold buyer "are indeed lottery tickets issued by the company and have won the jackpot".

“ According to regulations, only agents are authorized to pay prizes, but the company does not authorize gold shops. However, someone brought that lottery ticket to the agent to exchange. This number was issued by the company, so the company is responsible for paying prizes according to regulations ,” Mr. Dao said, adding that the company had paid out the 5 lottery tickets mentioned above.
