Enjoy 6 Italian films that won many prestigious awards

The Embassy of Italy in Hanoi, in collaboration with the Asian Film Festival in Rome, organized the Italian Film Festival 2025 from October 20 to 25 at the National Cinema Center (87 Lang Ha, O Cho Dua Ward, Hanoi), with screenings starting at 7:30 p.m. every day.

Continuing Italy's storytelling legacy, this year's film festival brings to the Vietnamese public six outstanding, award-winning films that portray the spirit of a rapidly changing Italy.

From quiet reflections on love and memory to bold depictions of resilience and resistance, these stories weave a portrait of contemporary Italy – vibrant, ever-changing, and profoundly human.

Films selected for screening this time include “Vermiglio” by director Maura Delpero - the film won the Silver Lion at the 81st Venice Film Festival and was selected to represent Italy at the 2025 Oscars.

Valerio Mastandrea's film “Feeling Better” (Nonostante) was honored with the Nastro d'Argento Award for Best Screenplay. Marco Tullio Giordana's film “Life Apart” (La Vita Accanto) was a work that brought home several acting awards and the Award of Dedication for Marco Tullio at the 2024 Locarno Film Festival.

In addition, the film “Nineteen” (Diciannove) brings a vivid coming-of-age story, selected to attend prestigious international film festivals in Venice, Toronto and London.

The film “Gloria!” has won numerous prestigious awards, notably the Golden Globe Award (Italy) for Best First Film and Best Original Score.

Director Claudio Giovanni's "Hey Joe" was recognized in the categories of Best Sound and Best Cinematography at Italy's top film awards.

The films will be screened in Italian, with Vietnamese and English subtitles. After each screening, audiences will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session and discussion with Mr. Antonio Termenini, Artistic Director of the Asian Film Festival in Rome and the Italian Film Festival in Hanoi .

Within the framework of the 2025 Italian Film Festival, at 2:00 p.m. on October 22, at Casa Italia (18 Le Phung Hieu, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi), there will be a film discussion with the theme "Film curation: Dare to select films". Here, Artistic Director Antonio Termenini and guests will explore different approaches to film scheduling, collaboration and building a film-loving community.
